IoT SIMs for cross-border recruitment

1. An interview that still has to hold when the recruiter is in another country

Cross-border recruitment covers video interviews, remote hiring, an ATS (applicant tracking system), cross-border recruiting, and talent assessment. Companies and agencies place video-interview terminals, remote-hiring devices, and ATS terminals in many countries, and each one has to reach headquarters and the recruitment platform while the interview is running. The SIM is what keeps that terminal online, so it has to work in every country on the trip, keep candidate data private, and sit inside the compliance the employer already holds.

SimtoLink supplies international IoT SIMs to multinational companies, recruitment agencies, and HR-technology firms. Coverage spans 200+ countries and regions and 600+ operator networks, as eSIM or physical SIM, for video-interview terminals and remote-hiring devices. One SIM stays in the device when a recruiter interviews across a border.

2. The call, the trip, the ATS, and the campus tour

Recruiting covers video interviews, remote hiring, and the ATS.

Video interviews

HR runs remote interviews on Zoom, Teams, or HireVue with candidates in other countries. On a trip the interviewer needs an uplink of at least 2 Mbps, or a drop in the call is what the candidate remembers. An AI video interview records 30–90 minutes, about 500MB–2GB, and uploads in the background so the review can be finished from any country.

Remote hiring and hiring on the ground

Jobs go out on LinkedIn and Indeed. A recruiter traveling through several countries still has to handle applications, answer candidate messages, and book interviews, or the process stops while they are away. In distributed hiring, hiring managers in each country interview with HR. One SIM estate covers those terminals, and one tariff is what finance reimburses.

ATS and the talent pool

An ATS such as Workday, Greenhouse, or iCIMS is where the process lives. Interviewers and HR update interview notes, a hiring decision, and offer approval from wherever they are. Background checks on Sterling or First Advantage sit on the same ATS, and the file crosses borders on a private path, which is what local labor law and GDPR expect of candidate data.

Hiring in more than one country

A campus tour moves between universities in several countries. The SIM keeps on-site registration, the company presentation, and a live stream up. Expat onboarding — work visa, tax registration, social security — is a stack of files uploaded to HR, and the assignee has to reach that system from the new country. One SIM plan is the airtime cost of that tour, and it lands on one travel expense.

3. Data per interview terminal

Each device uses about 100–500MB a month. Most of that is video interviews and the traffic to the recruitment platform. Hiring arrives in bursts, so leave 20%–30% of headroom.

Several SIMs can share one pool, which fits a company with hiring sites in many countries. The platform reports consumption by country and site and flags unusual use.

4. A candidate file, a local-storage rule, and a video call

  • Candidate data: A CV and an interview recording are personal data. Send them on a private APN with TLS, in line with GDPR and the data rules of each country.
  • Hiring in many countries: A terminal has to change networks on its own. Pricing is the same across those countries, and the bill is itemized.
  • Data kept in-country: Some countries require recruiting data to stay local. SimtoLink supports a security assessment when data has to leave.
  • Bandwidth: A video interview needs a fast link. SimtoLink SIMs run on 4G and 5G.

5. What changes for a hiring team on the road

Coverage spans 200+ countries and regions and 600+ operators. 4G and 5G are there so a video interview holds. A shared data pool absorbs hiring sites in many countries. Activation and the devices sit in one SimtoLink console.

6. Before the first interview terminal ships

Count devices, countries, monthly data, and how the terminal joins the recruitment platform. From that, choose a single SIM or a shared pool, and pay-as-you-go or a monthly bundle. Test in the countries the team actually visits. Activate SIMs, set the APN, and bind devices in bulk on the SimtoLink platform. After go-live, alert on data use and inspect on a schedule.

SimtoLink already supplies multinational companies, recruitment agencies, and HR-technology firms. If you are connecting video interviews and an ATS abroad, contact SimtoLink for a plan built around those hiring sites.
