Product Overview and Engineering Role

The SimtoLink 32-channel analog acquisition unit samples voltage, current, and sensor signals in one chassis, applies anti-aliasing, converts them to engineering units, and sends the results over Modbus/SCPI or Ethernet. It fits distribution auxiliary monitoring, test stands, and process-variable patrols where many points share one concentrated wiring run.

Each channel can be set for range, filtering, and alarm thresholds, with NTP or IRIG-B time sync depending on the order code. SimtoLink supplies terminal definitions, a shield-grounding diagram, and a laboratory calibration-report template so an EPC contractor can cite acceptance-ready accuracy and synchronization figures in the bid.

Reliability and Site Conditions

On electrical safety and EMC, the unit has passed the relevant CCC test items, and the ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout reduce ground-loop and common-mode risk. For outdoor or coastal sites, a higher ingress rating and an anti-corrosion coating are available.

Software supports bulk parameter import, threshold policies, and event video or waveform capture depending on the model, plus OTA configuration and firmware updates. SimtoLink recommends a three-step site acceptance: power-on self-test, communications time sync, and a spot check of sampled channels. For metering or safety-related use, we help with submission to a third-party metrology institute and with type-test documents.

Key Hardware Parameters

The figures below are the key hardware parameters of a typical configuration, for engineering selection and for technical clauses in bid documents. For a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant, contact SimtoLink for the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the same family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents shipped with the unit govern.

Typical Use Cases

These are the deployments we see most often with this model, for selection and for judging results on site:

Substation and Distribution-Room Auxiliary Monitoring

Busbar temperature, partial-discharge precursor signals, and environmental measurements land on one device and go to the auxiliary-control system or the power-and-environment platform over RS485 or Ethernet.

Laboratory and Metrological Comparison

Multi-channel comparison tests need one clock and low channel-to-channel crosstalk. This unit is a practical way to build a traceable acquisition chain.

Water and Environmental Process Variables

Pressure and flow transmitters in pump rooms and dosing rooms are aggregated here before they go to SCADA, so fewer PLC analog-input slots are used.

Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance

  • Confirm the supply range and polarity before power-up. Where needed, check bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
  • Use shielded twisted pair for communications, grounded at one end, and do not bundle it with high-power cables over long runs.
  • For first commissioning, verify bidirectional read/write and threshold triggers against the platform in the lab, then move the unit to site.
  • Outdoors, keep drainage and ventilation clear, inspect sealing faces on a schedule, and keep the lightning-protection ground resistance within local rules.
  • In long-term service, spot-check sampled channels and archive logs every 12 months.

Ordering, Documentation, and Support

SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and sample projects. Volume orders can include a sample review and in-plant inspection. Warranty and calibration terms follow the contract and the documents shipped with the goods.
