Product overview and engineering role
One gateway runs two non-cellular Sub-GHz channels, for example 470 MHz and a regional 868 or 915 MHz plan. Backhaul and policy stay in one place for cross-border jobs, a private trial network, or a mix of local license-exempt terminals and terminals that roam in from other regions.
Power and duty-cycle templates follow the band. The gateway can scan the spectrum and mark interferers. SimtoLink supplies a regional-rules comparison and an antenna-diversity note, so a bid can state the dual-band capability and the site acceptance figures.
Reliability and site fit
CCC test items cover electrical safety and EMC. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced grounding and a zoned layout cut ground-loop and common-mode risk. Outdoor and coastal sites can specify a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters can be imported in batches, with threshold rules and event or waveform capture where the order code includes them. Configuration and firmware update over the air. On site, accept the gateway in three steps: power-on self-test, time sync, and a sample check. Metering and safety jobs can include help with a third-party metrology submission and type-test papers.
Key hardware parameters
The rows are the typical build for a bid schedule. Ask if you need a wider span, a redundant supply, or an intrinsically safe variant, and SimtoLink will send the hardware specification and the installation guide. Order codes in the family are not identical; the nameplate and the pack list decide.

Typical applications
Three deployments, useful when you select the gateway and when you judge the result:
One gateway model across countries
The same model switches spectrum templates by region, so spare SKUs drop. Headquarters still uses one MQTT topic set and one certificate system.
Pilots and research trial networks
At one site, compare penetration and capacity of different channels in parallel, and take the measurements into a large AMI or logistics-network selection.
A mixed private network during migration
While old and new channels coexist, terminals move in batches and the outdoor plant does not all have to be replaced at once.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Before you close the breaker, confirm supply range and polarity, and meter the bus if the drawing is unclear.
- Use shielded twisted pair, ground the shield at one end only, and do not bundle it with high-power cable over a long run.
- For first go-live, prove two-way access and a threshold trigger in the lab, then move the gateway to site.
- Outdoor mounts need drainage and airflow first. Inspect the seals on a schedule, and keep lightning-earth resistance inside the local rule.
- In long service, sample-check the gateway and file the logs every 12 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
SimtoLink includes the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project. A volume order can add a sample review and an in-plant inspection. Warranty and calibration stay with the contract and the papers that ship with the gateway.
