Product Overview and Engineering Role
The appliance captures and reads plates at checkpoints, in parking lots, and at campus gates. Specs on this page are for picking a model, for a bid clause, and for a later spot check. Fill light, the trigger, and the recognition model sit in one unit. At the edge it writes a structured plate, color, and timestamp, and it can drive the barrier, billing, and a deny list. The hardware is built for outdoor temperature and lightning. Signed firmware and OTA are what volume delivery and remote maintenance need.
Gigabit Ethernet and standard industrial connectors are the default, so the unit can land on an existing SCADA, energy, or IoT platform. Southbound point-table templates and northbound MQTT/HTTP examples come with it. A volume build can add enclosure silkscreen, harness length, protocol mapping, and a calibration certificate.
Reliability and Site Conditions
Electrical safety and EMC include the relevant CCC test items. Ports have surge protection and reverse-polarity protection. Grounding is reinforced and the layout is partitioned, which holds down ground loops and common-mode noise. Outdoor and coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters import in bulk. Threshold policies and event or waveform recording depend on the model. Configuration and firmware move by OTA. Site acceptance is three steps: power-on self-test, communications time sync, and a sample check. For metering or safety use, SimtoLink can help with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key Hardware Parameters
The table is the usual build, for selection and for a bid’s technical schedule. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant comes from the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ. The nameplate and the papers in the carton decide.

|---|---|---|
| Inference framework | RKNN | Mixed precision |

| Video input | Single 4K60 | H.264/H.265 |
| Latency | <60 ms | Typical end-to-end |
| Concurrent channels | 8 channels | Depends on the model |

Typical Deployments
Four placements come up when the lane scheme is drawn and the payback is estimated:
Commercial lots and curb spaces
Entry and exit records, billing, and guidance to open spaces, with less video sent to the cloud.
City checkpoints and traffic offences
Structured plate, vehicle type, and time of day go to the traffic platform. Local rules decide what may be sent.
Campus and logistics-park gates
Allow-list release, visitor bookings, and route control for hazardous-chemical vehicles.
Fuel and charging stations
Frictionless payment, member-vehicle recognition, and an unpaid-exit policy close on the appliance.
Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance
- Confirm the supply range and polarity before power is applied. If the feed is uncertain, measure bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
- Communications stay on shielded twisted pair, grounded at one end, and not lashed for a long run beside high-power cables.
- Prove bidirectional read and write, and a threshold trigger, against the platform in the lab before the appliance moves to site.
- An outdoor mount needs a drain and a way to breathe. Inspect sealing faces on a schedule, and keep lightning-ground resistance inside the local rule.
- Once the appliance stays in service, spot-check samples and archive logs every 6 months.
Ordering, Documentation, and Support
A hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and sample projects come with the inquiry. Volume orders can include a sample review and inspection at the plant. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers in the carton.
