Product Overview and Engineering Positioning

SimtoLink’s LTE Cat.1 Cellular Data Gateway provides a medium-rate data pipe from tens of kbps to several Mbps on public networks. It suits image snapshots, short audio and video telemetry, bulk JSON reporting, and OTA distribution. Compared with Cat.4/5G modules, it is easier to deploy at scale on cost and power.

It supports dual SIM, link probing, and a shared cellular egress for serial and Ethernet devices, and it can be combined with VPN, an allowlist, and TLS client-certificate policies. SimtoLink supplies carrier APN parameter packs, weak-network reconnect scripts, and a remote dial-test checklist so municipal and industrial projects can complete cellular acceptance.

Reliability and on-site adaptability

For electrical safety and EMC, the product passes the relevant IEC 61000-4 Level 4 test items. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. The structure uses reinforced grounding and a zoned layout to reduce ground-loop and common-mode interference. Outdoor or coastal sites can use a higher protection grade and an anti-corrosion coating version.

Software supports batch parameter import, threshold policies, and event video or waveform recording (depending on the model), plus configuration and firmware upgrades over OTA. SimtoLink recommends a three-step on-site acceptance: power-on self-test, communication time synchronization, and sampling spot checks. For metering or safety-related applications, it assists with submission to a third-party metrology institute and with type-test documents.

Key Hardware Parameters

The following are the key hardware parameters of this model in a typical configuration, used for engineering selection and referencing in technical clauses of bidding documents; for wider range, redundant power supply, or intrinsically safe explosion-proof variants, please contact SimtoLink to obtain the "Hardware Specification" and "Installation & Commissioning Guide." Different order numbers in the same product family may have slight differences; please refer to the factory nameplate and accompanying documents.

Typical application scenarios

The following are common implementation forms of this model in engineering, for easy solution selection and effect evaluation:

Distributed image and telemetry points

Charging piles, barrier gates, and small equipment rooms that need periodic images or structured events match Cat.1 bandwidth and tariff models better than 4G HD video.

Cellular backup for a wired primary link

When Ethernet or fiber is interrupted, the link switches to cellular and keeps SCADA heartbeats and alarm reports, for unattended distribution and pump-station SLAs.

Vehicle-mounted and mobile cabinets

Logistics vehicle gateways and mobile environmental monitoring stations use Cat.1 modules to reduce heat generation and antenna complexity when roaming between cities.

Installation, Grounding, and Operation & Maintenance Key Points

  • Before powering on, confirm the power supply range and polarity. If necessary, use a multimeter to verify the bus voltage and circuit breaker capacity.
  • Communication cables should use shielded twisted pairs with single-end grounding, and avoid bundling with high-power cables for long-distance laying.
  • For the first go-live, finish bidirectional read/write and threshold-trigger checks against the platform in the lab, then move the unit to site.
  • For outdoor installation, priority should be given to drainage and ventilation. Regularly inspect sealed surfaces; lightning protection grounding resistance must meet local regulations.
  • For long-term operation, it is recommended to perform a sampling check and log archiving every 6 months.

Ordering, Documentation, and Support

SimtoLink provides the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and sample projects. Volume orders support sample review and resident factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the goods.
