Product Overview and Engineering Positioning

SimtoLink’s 4G/LTE Full-Band Rubber-Duck Antenna is for fast deployment on gateways, DTUs, and vehicle terminals. Where space is tight, coverage must be omnidirectional, and the antenna is often removed and refitted, it trades off gain and bandwidth. The rubber-duck form makes it easy to change polarization direction and mounting tilt. Typical interfaces are SMA/IPEX jumper combinations. The design emphasizes the VSWR curve, peak power, and outdoor UV aging, to cut weak-network dropouts and RF-front-end overheating from standing waves.

SimtoLink recommends checking the carrier bands and the Cat.1/Cat.4 module RF-port definition in the Hardware Specification, and measuring cabinet metal proximity, isolation among co-sited antennas, and lightning grounding. Volume projects can customize silkscreen, bend angle, and cable length.

Reliability and on-site adaptability

A passive rubber-duck antenna needs attention to outdoor ultraviolet light, salt fog, and connector waterproofing. When it is tuned with a cellular module, transmit power, feeder insertion loss, and antenna gain should all go into the EIRP and certification-limit calculation, so the link neither exceeds the limit nor damages the RF front end with long-term high reflection.

Metal cabinets and nearby cables change the radiation pattern and VSWR. SimtoLink recommends retesting VSWR at key frequencies and RSSI/throughput after the cabinet is fitted, and recording mounting tilt, cable type, and length for later troubleshooting.

Key Hardware Parameters

The following are the key RF and mechanical parameters of this model in a typical configuration, for engineering selection and for citing in bid technical clauses. Typical application scenarios

Four common field forms, for solution design and return-on-investment review:

Outdoor cabinets and pole sites

4G backup links, telemetry RTUs, and camera backhaul gap-fill.

Vehicle and mobile assets

Positioning terminals on logistics and construction vehicles, with vibration-resistant waterproof connectors.

Emergency and temporary sites

Bring a cellular network up quickly, and spend less time aiming a directional antenna.

Charging piles and battery-swap cabinets

A compromise omnidirectional choice near metal cavities, used together with impedance tuning.

Installation, Grounding, and Operation & Maintenance Key Points

  • Tighten SMA and similar connectors to the specified torque so a loose joint does not raise VSWR. Avoid tight bends in the feeder.
  • After cabinet or vehicle installation, retest VSWR and field strength at key frequencies. Adjust the tilt and move clear of metal shadowing if needed.
  • Waterproof outdoor runs and bond them to the same potential. Fit lightning protection and grounding to code before the feeder enters the equipment room.
  • When tuning with the module, check the band and the antenna match. Output power must stay within the module rating and the regulatory limit.
  • For long-term operation, inspect connector waterproofing and bracket fasteners on a regular schedule, and keep a record of cable type and length.

Ordering, Documentation, and Support

SimtoLink provides the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and sample projects. Volume orders support sample review and resident factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the goods.
