Multi-currency

Exchange rates · Multi-currency settlement · Reconciliation · Coverage in 200+ countries and regions

Overview

Multi-currency finance is how an IoT business bills when the customer, the device, and the ledger are not in one currency. It covers exchange-rate management, settlement in more than one currency, reconciliation and aggregation, and one view in a base currency. SimtoLink International IoT Cloud Platform (ICMP) supports USD, EUR, CNY, and GBP, across 200+ countries and regions, for 500+ enterprise customers and more than 10 million connected devices.

Rates you can lock

Use a live rate, a historical rate, or an FX lock. Bill in the local currency for the country or region, and settle in one base currency, which reduces the risk from a move in the rate.

Collect, invoice, and settle without forcing one currency too early

Collect and invoice in more than one currency, then settle in one. Split the settlement by customer, region, or project, which is what fund gathering and subsidiary finance need.

Reconcile against the rate that was used

Reconcile across currencies, keep a reconciliation report, and trace the historical rate. Export through the API into the finance system when an audit asks which rate applied.

What the ledger has to show across currencies

Finance needs one view across countries and currencies, exchange-rate risk under control, handling that meets GDPR and tax rules, and a reconciliation an audit can read. ICMP provides a global finance dashboard, multi-currency reports, rate settings, reconciliation, and an API, and the same view can grow with the business.

How a rate and a settlement are protected

Currency and settlement services use a microservices architecture, with an SLA of 99.9% and technical support 7×24. TLS protects rate and ledger traffic, IAM and RBAC decide who can lock a rate or export a reconciliation, and the audit trail holds the financial record.

  • One multi-currency service, instead of a bank, an account, and a rate source for every country
  • Rate management that can lock a rate and improve the one you settle on
  • A REST API so ERP and finance can take the reconciliation export
  • A customer-success manager for currency setup and for the finance work that follows

Ledgers that already span currencies

Several countries / a group customer Devices in 200+ countries are billed in the local currency and settled in one base currency, and subsidiaries can gather funds inside the group.
Channel sales / agents Multi-level channels settle by region or customer in more than one currency, with reconciliation and rebate calculation, and the agent can still be paid in a local currency.
A financial audit / tax Multi-currency reconciliation, the historical rate, and the reconciliation report support an audit, a cross-border tax filing, and compliance management.

From a rate rule to reconciliation

Follow requirements review → solution design → a proof of concept (POC) → scaled deployment → ongoing tuning. SimtoLink configures currencies and rate rules, opens a POC environment, and helps connect the finance system and train the team. Contact SimtoLink to set the base currency against the currencies you already invoice in.
