Smart Greenhouse Solution

Protected cropping, climate control, and precision growing that raise what a greenhouse returns

Solution Overview

The smart greenhouse solution covers glasshouses, multi-span houses, and Chinese solar greenhouses. It watches temperature, humidity, light, CO2, and soil EC, and it adjusts them automatically. Roller screens, ventilation, irrigation, and supplemental lighting run from the same control loop. Protected cropping already makes off-season, higher-grade production possible. Doing it by hand is slow, and the crop feels every delay.

Sensors for temperature, humidity, light, CO2, and soil temperature, moisture, and EC feed an IoT platform and a crop model. From the growth stage and the target setpoints, the system drives roller screens, vents, fans, wet pads, grow lights, and heaters so temperature, light, humidity, and air stay where the crop needs them. A fertigation module ties drip lines, sprinklers, and the fertilizer injector together for irrigation and feeding on demand. Growth records, yield estimates, and planting notes support the next decision. It fits vegetables, flowers, and fruit under cover, and factory-style seedling and tissue-culture rooms that need higher yield, better quality, lower labor, and production through the year.

Facility Agriculture and Efficiency Analysis

China's facility agriculture covers more than 4 million hectares, with greenhouses and tunnels being the main means for off-season vegetables and flower production. Traditional manual control relies on experience, and fluctuations in temperature and humidity affect crop growth. Low temperatures at night and high temperatures in summer are common issues. Smart greenhouses automatically control the environment, keeping temperature and humidity fluctuations within the target range, significantly improving yield and quality.

Typical benefits: For a tomato greenhouse (10-mu multi-span greenhouse), after deployment, manual control labor hours were reduced by about 70%; yield increased by approximately 15%-20%; and water and fertilizer utilization improved, saving about 25% of water and fertilizer. The investment for a single greenhouse is about 20,000–50,000 yuan (including sensors, controllers, platform), and for large-scale growers or agricultural parks, the payback period is usually 1–2 years. Seedling factories and tissue culture rooms have stricter environmental requirements, making smart control a necessity.

Core Functions

Environmental monitoring

Real-time collection of temperature, humidity, light, CO2, and soil temperature and humidity

Climate control

Roller screens, ventilation, shade, and supplemental lighting, driven automatically

Irrigation and fertilization

Intelligent control of drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, and integrated water and fertilizer

Growth analysis

Growth data recording, yield prediction, planting recommendations

Typical Use Cases

Vegetable greenhouse

Tomatoes, cucumbers, leafy vegetables, etc.

Flower cultivation

Fresh cut flowers, potted plants

Seedling factory

Plug tray seedling, tissue culture

Key Technical Connections

IoT and platform for facility agriculture

Environmental sensors and controllers connect over 4G, LoRa, or a cable. Roller screens, fans, and irrigation run through relays and Modbus. The site can take agricultural data and a weather feed. Edge control keeps the house running if the link drops, and stored readings go up when it returns.
