Where It Is Used

Coal, non-ferrous metals, non-metallic minerals, and oil and gas

Coal Mining

Safer underground work, higher extraction rates, and a greener mine

How it works

Sensors at key points underground watch methane concentration, temperature, and air speed. A reading over the limit raises an alarm and starts emergency ventilation. Wi-Fi and location cards follow each miner, so a rescue can start from a known position. Mechanized systems run cutting, haulage, and support. Video runs around the clock, and AI flags unsafe acts and abnormal conditions. Ventilation shifts airflow with the face and the methane reading so the air underground stays within limits.

Where it breaks today

Methane: A gas explosion is the largest hazard underground, and weak monitoring has led to serious accidents.
People who are hard to find: The underground layout is complex, locations are unclear, and rescue is slow.
Manual cutting: Hand methods are heavy, slow, and expose people to more risk.
Uneven air: Ventilation does not reach every heading, and methane can gather.

Technical strengths

Methane monitoring

Concentration is watched live. Over the limit, the system alarms and cuts power. The incident rate falls 85%.

Where the crew is

Each miner's position is known. A hazard can be found quickly, and rescue efficiency rises 70%.

Mechanized cutting

Automated extraction raises output 45% and keeps fewer people in the hazard.

Ventilation that follows the face

Airflow is adjusted as the work moves. Underground air quality meets the standard 99% of the time.

Non-Ferrous Metals

A tighter beneficiation process, higher metal recovery, and a clearer return

How it works

The flow runs from the ore to the metal. Grade is read with X-ray fluorescence and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, fast enough to steer beneficiation. Crushing, grinding, and flotation are watched live, and AI adjusts reagent dose and machine settings to raise recovery. The tailings dam is watched for water level, displacement, and seepage so a failure is seen early. Smelting temperature and time are held on an automated line. Exhaust and wastewater are measured so discharge stays inside the limit.

Where it breaks today

A late assay: The lab result arrives too late to change the circuit, and recovery suffers.
Settings by habit: Parameters follow experience, the circuit drifts, and metal is lost.
A dam that is poorly watched: Old monitoring finds a problem late.
Discharge that is hard to hold: Wastewater and exhaust drift over the limit, and penalties follow.

Technical strengths

Grade on the line

Ore grade is available in 5 minutes, in time to change the circuit.

A tighter circuit

AI settings raise metal recovery by 8–12%.

The tailings dam

The pond is watched around the clock, with an early warning before a serious failure.

Discharge inside the limit

Discharge is measured live and treatment equipment adjusts. Compliance is 99.5%.

Non-Metallic Minerals

Open-pit operations that stay safe, productive, and cleaner

How it works

The design follows open-pit work in building materials and chemical minerals. Drones survey the pit on a schedule and build a 3D model for the mine plan and for slope stability. Blast design calculates hole position, depth, and charge so fragmentation improves and the share of oversize rock falls. Excavators and trucks are followed live, and ore blend and haul routes are adjusted so the fleet works harder. Particle size and impurities are checked on the line, and off-spec material is diverted. Slope displacement and cracks are watched so a slide is seen before it moves.

Where it breaks today

A rough plan: Without a precise surface model, the mine plan wastes effort.
A blast set by habit: Experience-based charges leave too much oversize, and secondary breaking costs more.
Trucks that wait: Dispatch is messy, utilization is low, and haulage costs rise.
A slope that is not watched: Without measurement, slides still happen.

Technical strengths

Drone survey

A precise 3D model supports the plan. Ore recovery rises 10%.

A calculated blast

Charge and pattern are calculated. Oversize falls 30%, and secondary breaking costs less.

Haulage dispatch

Truck mix and routes are optimized. Haulage efficiency rises 35%.

The slope

Displacement is watched live, with a warning before a slide.

Oil and Natural Gas

Wells and pipelines watched closely enough to keep production steady

How it works

Drilling parameters are watched live, and rate and mud formulation are adjusted from the data so the well goes faster with fewer incidents. Wellhead pressure, temperature, and flow are collected remotely, and an abnormal well shows up early. Waterflood and gas injection are recommended from the reservoir and the production record. Fiber sensing and smart pigs watch pipeline pressure, leaks, and corrosion. Depots and filling stations report stock and safety status. Predictive maintenance reads the equipment record and books the work before a failure stops production or the line.

Where it breaks today

A difficult well: Blowouts, stuck pipe, and similar events are costly.
Wells that are far apart: Production data arrives late, and the field is hard to run.
An aging line: Corrosion is present, leak detection is limited, and a release becomes an environmental problem.
Maintenance that waits for the failure: A sudden stop hits production and can become a safety incident.

Technical strengths

Drilling from the data

Parameters are adjusted as the bit turns. Rate rises 25%, and the incident rate falls 60%.

The well, from the office

Production is watched remotely, anomalies show up early, and output rises.

The pipeline

Fiber sensing locates a leak to within 10 meters, with a response in under 5 minutes.

Maintenance on a plan

AI flags the fault before it stops the unit. Unplanned downtime falls 70%.
