Split receiver

The account that receives the profit share in a payment split

Definition

Split receiver is the account that receives the profit share in a payment split. It is usually the WeChat or Alipay account of an agent or a distributor. Configure the receiver and the revenue-sharing ratio in advance. After payment succeeds, the amount is split automatically by that ratio. No manual transfer is required.

Configuration Requirements

  • Account Type: For WeChat Pay revenue sharing, the recipient must be a WeChat merchant account or a personal/enterprise WeChat Pay account with revenue sharing enabled; for Alipay revenue sharing, it must be an Alipay enterprise account. Personal collection codes usually do not support revenue sharing.
  • Ratio Configuration: Configure revenue share ratio based on order amount or data plan type. Multi-level revenue sharing is supported (e.g., 10% for first-level agents, 5% for second-level agents).
  • Relationship Binding: The recipient must sign a revenue sharing agreement with the platform and complete merchant relationship addition on the payment channel side before participating in revenue sharing.

Difference from Settlement Profit Sharing

A payment split is “an immediate split at the moment of payment.” The split receiver receives the share as soon as the user’s payment succeeds. Settlement profit sharing is “a periodic settlement payout.” After the agent receives a settlement statement for the settlement period, the enterprise transfers the money manually or automatically. A split receiver fits the distributor model. Settlement profit sharing fits the agent model.

Recipient Configuration Process

A split receiver is added on the WeChat Pay and Alipay merchant platforms. Submit the receiver type (merchant or individual) and the account details, and the platform signs a split agreement with the receiver. After the add succeeds, link the receiver in the IoT Cloud Platform to the distributor and the revenue-sharing ratio. When a user pays, the platform calls the split API and allocates each receiver’s share by ratio. The receiver must be a real-name merchant or user. A personal collection code is usually not supported. The ratios together must not exceed 100%, and a share must be reserved as platform revenue.

Split receivers and sales attribution

The split receiver must match the sales attribution and the revenue-sharing ratio. When the order is paid, the platform reads the distributor levels the order belongs to and passes each level’s receiver and ratio to the payment channel. After payment succeeds, the split runs automatically. In multi-level distribution, every level, including the first and the second, needs its own split receiver. Under B2B2C, a split receiver gives a distributor an immediate share, and it complements an agent’s settlement profit sharing, which is paid on a cycle.

Recipient Configuration

Add the split receiver on the WeChat Pay and Alipay merchant platforms: submit the receiver type and account details, and sign the split agreement. After that succeeds, associate the receiver in the IoT Cloud Platform with the distributor and the revenue-sharing ratio. The ratios together must not exceed 100%, and part of the amount must stay as platform revenue. The receiver must be a real-name merchant or user. A personal collection code is usually not supported. The split receiver is the core setting for a payment split.

Which source prevails: channel onboarding data or the platform profile

A split receiver is a collection account the payment channel recognizes. It receives the amount cut out by ratio when a user pays for an IoT card plan. A distributor name on the platform is only a business profile. It cannot stand in for a merchant number or a contracted account on the channel side. The binding has to record, together, the receiver type, the channel account identifier, the matching distributor, and the ratio ceiling that is allowed. If the account identifier is entered wrong, payment succeeds and the split is refused on the channel side. The money stays with the primary merchant, while the business may already have booked it as shared.

A personal collection code, and a balance account that has not finished real-name registration, are not accepted by most split products. An enterprise channel uses a corporate merchant account. An individual channel uses a real-name account the channel explicitly supports. One distributor has one receiver on WeChat and another on Alipay. Whichever payment the order uses, only that channel’s receiver may be placed in the instruction. An Alipay account cannot be put into a WeChat Pay split request.

How new orders are stopped after a relationship expires

A split relationship on the channel side has an effective period, and it also expires when the receiver is frozen or the agreement is cancelled. If the platform checks only when the receiver is first added, renewals months later still carry the expired account. Before the order, or before the split is sent, the relationship status should be recognizable. Only a valid relationship may split to that receiver. If it has expired, the order can still be collected by the primary merchant, but the split is marked not executable, and operations is told to replace the account. Do not change the receiver in the middle of the user’s payment. Otherwise the ratio before and after on the same order will not match.

A receiver change does not apply to historical payments. Money already split out stays in the old account, and a refund return also goes back to the old account. The new account appears only on payments after the change. Writing the old and new accounts as two parallel receivers under the same distributor, without an effective time, can split one order twice. SimtoLink maintains this binding in WeChat and Alipay collection. Settlement only consumes the split result. It does not, on the settlement statement, name a bank account that does not exist on the platform to stand in for the channel account.

The channel fee is deducted from the divisible amount first

The fee the channel charges the collecting merchant is usually deducted from the user’s actual payment before the split. What a receiver gets by ratio is the divisible amount after that fee, not the list price multiplied by the ratio again. If the fee is deducted a second time from the amount that reaches the receiver, the channel’s actual receipt is too small, while the settlement statement still accrues on a ratio that has not deducted the fee, and the two sides disagree. When a split is returned, whether the fee comes back follows the channel’s rule. The platform cannot assume a full return. SimtoLink uses the divisible balance returned by the channel in the split instruction. The receiver profile only decides who is paid. It does not decide the fee formula.
