1. Scenario overview
White label is about how the brand looks. Multi-tenant is data isolation and billing. User self-service is where the user acts. When you use the platform, you set your brand name, logo, primary and secondary colors, and your own domain. The self-service portal and the admin console show your brand. They do not show the platform’s mark.
That is how you face end users, agents, and distributors under your own name. Under multi-tenant, each tenant can have its own white label. White label is what the screen looks like. Multi-tenant is whose data it is and who pays. Self-service is the door the user walks through.
2. Core capabilities
Look and feel
Brand name appears in the title, the header and footer, and email. Logo: upload the main logo and a favicon, sized for different resolutions and backgrounds. Colors: primary, secondary, buttons, and links, so the screen reads as one brand. Provide the logo as a transparent PNG in more than one size. Colors should meet WCAG.
Your own domain
Point your domain at the user self-service portal. End users see your domain, not the platform default. Set the CNAME and the SSL certificate so the site stays up and the connection is protected. SimtoLink can help with the domain and the CDN.
Every screen
The brand covers the end-user portal, the agent and distributor console, the admin sign-in page, and the main admin screen. Email, SMS, and PDF exports can carry the same mark, so the brand does not stop at the browser.
Several brands on one platform
In multi-tenant, each tenant sets its own white label. One platform serves several branded customers. Each has its own name, logo, colors, and domain, and they do not bleed into each other. That is how you run more than one brand as SaaS.
3. How a white label is set
4. White label, tenants, and self-service
White label, multi-tenant, and user self-service answer different questions.
| Dimension | White-label operations | Multi-tenant | User self-service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Focus | How the brand looks | Data isolation and billing | Where the user acts, and what they can do |
| Core capabilities | Brand name, logo, colors, your own domain | Tenant isolation, resource quotas, usage billing | Look up a SIM, renew, activate, resume, bills |
| What you get | A branded screen and your domain | A tenant account and isolated data | The self-service portal |
| What teams need | A brand people recognize as yours | Each customer’s data kept apart, billed on usage | Fewer support calls, and an end-user experience people will use |
They work as a set. Multi-tenant isolates the data. White label is the brand on the screen. User self-service is where the end user acts.
5. Typical use cases
- An IoT operator: end users see your brand on the platform, on self-service, and in support.
- A channel’s own label: when you resell, the customer downstream gets a portal that carries your brand.
- A group company: subsidiaries share the platform and each sets its own white label. The technology is one. The brands stay separate.
6. Why it matters
White label on the SimtoLink IoT Cloud Platform is how the brand in front of the customer is yours. End users and channels see your name, which is what recognition and trust are built on. With user self-service, the branded experience is the one they actually use, and it can carry a brand strategy rather than sit as a logo on a login page.
7. Implementation notes
Bring a complete set: logo, color rules, and where the brand should appear. Have the domain ready and the SSL certificate on it. If you run more than one brand, decide which tenant owns which white label before you configure it. SimtoLink can help with the setup, the asset rules, and pointing the domain.
