Product overview and engineering role
The sensor puts door open and close together with broadband vibration from knocks and prying, at one mounting point. It fits cabinets, vault doors, archives, and unattended rooms that need pry detection without a second cable run. Adjustable thresholds, debounce, and a short energy window cut false alarms while key events still reach the platform or start a recording. It can sit beside existing access contacts, infrared sensors, and cameras as a second check.
SimtoLink recommends writing the mounting direction, the magnet gap, and the effect of a metal door liner into the hardware specification, and learning a baseline against elevator and fan vibration. Volume jobs can add a bracket, a tamper loop, and two order codes: RS485 or wireless uplink.
Reliability and site fit
The sensor has passed the relevant IEC 61000-4 Level 4 tests. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced grounding and a zoned layout cut ground-loop and common-mode noise. Outdoor and coastal sites can specify a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters import in batches, with threshold rules and event or waveform capture where the model includes them. Configuration and firmware can move over the air. Accept on site in three steps: power-on self-test, time sync, and a sample check. Metering or safety use can add a third-party metrology submission and type-test documents.
Key hardware parameters
Treat the table as the typical build when you write a technical schedule. A wider span, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant is quoted with the hardware specification and the commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ; the nameplate and the papers in the box govern.
| Parameter | Specification | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sensing | Reed door contact + triaxial MEMS vibration | One housing |
| Door gap / trip | Typically 15–25 mm | Calibrated to the door material |
| Vibration logic | Multi-level thresholds / short energy window | Learns an environmental baseline |
| Communications | RS485 / Zigbee / Wi-Fi, by order | Platform integration |
| Power | Lithium cell / DC 5 V / PoE, by order | Low-power reporting |
| Video | No camera on the unit | Triggers a recording |
| Storage | Events go to the platform | Edge cache optional |
| Explosion protection | Not explosion-proof, typical | Equipment rooms and stores |
| Operating temperature | -12~51 ℃ | Indoor and outdoor |
| Standard | GA/T 1012 | Project acceptance |
Typical applications
Four deployments, useful when you design the scheme and estimate payback:
Equipment rooms and electrical rooms
Cabinet-door open and close, and a forced-open alarm, with video pre-roll.
Archives and secure stores
Two door states are checked against each other, and a vibration spike outside authorized hours raises an alert.
Unattended retail and bank kiosks
Abnormal vibration on a glass door or roller shutter, and a door left ajar for too long.
Base stations and outdoor cabinets
Remote sites with little maintenance, reporting door contact and vibration from one unit.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Confirm supply range and polarity before power is applied. Check bus voltage and breaker rating with a meter when the circuit is unfamiliar.
- Use shielded twisted pair, ground the shield at one end only, and do not bundle it with high-power cable over a long run.
- For first go-live, prove two-way access and a threshold trigger in the lab, then move the sensor to site.
- Outdoor mounts need drainage and airflow first. Inspect the seals on a schedule, and keep lightning-earth resistance inside the local rule.
- In long service, sample-check the sensor and file the logs every 12 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, an outline drawing, a wiring table, and a sample project. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers shipped with the sensor.
