Product Overview and Engineering Role
The SimtoLink elevator e-bike detection camera is for keeping e-bikes out of the car, and for the fire-safety rule that goes with that. With a tight view, mirror glare, and people in the way, edge detection plus a multi-frame track cuts false alarms. It usually talks to a controller or an IoT gateway that can block the bike, play a voice prompt, and link the light curtain or the door operator. The property platform gets a structured event: time, floor, confidence, and a still. That is the record of the warning, and the evidence if enforcement follows.
Write the mounting height, wide-angle distortion correction, and the privacy mask (a mosaic over a person, for example) into the Hardware Specification, and accept the camera together with elevator maintenance and the video retention period. Older estates can order PoE or 4G backhaul, and a build that keeps running after the power drops.
Reliability and Site Conditions
On electrical safety and EMC, the camera has passed the CE and FCC test items that apply. Ports have surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a partitioned layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
The camera can take a batch of parameters, apply threshold rules, and store event video or waveforms, depending on the model. OTA updates both configuration and firmware. On site, SimtoLink asks for a power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a spot check of samples. For metering or safety use, we help with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key Hardware Parameters
These figures are the camera in a typical build, so they can be quoted in a selection note or a bid. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant is quoted with the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Sister order codes can differ slightly; the nameplate and the papers shipped with the camera govern.

Typical Deployments
Four ways this camera is usually installed, for laying out a design and for judging the payback.
High-Rise Homes and Resettlement Housing
Stop charging in the corridor. The link to the elevator controller can be set for a normally open or a normally closed policy.
Urban Villages and Rental Blocks
Cover many elevators and many units in one rollout. Alarms and the counts sit on one platform.
Freight Elevators in Malls and Complexes
Tell a flatbed cart from an e-bike, so shop disputes drop.
Government and Fire-Safety Campaigns
Send the event as structured data, so the inspection log and the later review have something to read.
Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance
- Confirm the supply range and polarity before power-up. If needed, measure bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
- Use shielded twisted pair for the run, bond one end of the shield, and do not lay it for a long distance in the same bundle as high-power cable.
- For first go-live, finish two-way read and write and the threshold triggers in the lab, then take the camera to site.
- Outdoors, drainage and ventilation come first. Inspect the seals, and hold the lightning earth to the local rule.
- In continuous service, spot-check samples and archive logs every 6 months.
Ordering, Documentation, and Support
SimtoLink provides the hardware specification, an outline drawing, a wiring table, and a sample project. Volume orders can take a sample review and a factory-floor inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers that ship with the camera.
