Product overview and where it fits

The SimtoLink lightweight federated-learning node is for joint modeling across sites and production lines. At the edge it uploads gradients or securely aggregated parameters. Raw production and energy data can stay in the domain, which meets compliance and data-sovereignty rules. Differential-privacy noise and mutual certificate authentication are set per project, including on a narrowband link and when the node is only online part of the time.

Resume after a break, and retry on failure, cut the chance that training stops on a weak link such as satellite or a 4G private network. SimtoLink can supply an interface list for the scheduler and the feature pipeline, and it can support a penetration test, which helps energy, manufacturing, and retail chains roll the node out at scale.

Reliability on site

For electrical safety and EMC, this node has cleared the relevant CE and FCC items. The ports carry surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a split layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal installs can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.

Software can set the training-round policy, clear the gradient cache, and queue retries after a failure. The client runtime and certificates move by OTA. On site, SimtoLink asks for a power-on self-test, an mTLS handshake with the scheduler, and one federated sync drill. For a high-security job we can support a penetration test and we provide the type-test file.

Key hardware parameters

The ratings below are the typical build of this node, written so a specifier can cite them in a bid clause. For a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant, ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the same family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents in the box govern.

Typical applications

Four field patterns for this node, useful when you are laying out a scheme and checking payback:

Manufacturing sites in different regions

Each plant extracts features from equipment state and process values locally. The aggregated update improves defect detection or cycle-time models, and the raw waveforms stay at the plant.

Distribution and renewable plants

Distributed PV and storage cabinets learn load forecasts or fault patterns together, and grid-side and customer-side data stay isolated.

Retail chains and cold chain

Store energy use and shelf-display sensors share an optimization model. Headquarters receives only encrypted gradients and metadata.

Healthcare and research, where the rules allow

Several organizations join a federated round under strict authorization and de-identification. The edge node does the local compute and keeps the audit log.

Installation, grounding, and maintenance

  • Confirm the supply range and polarity before power-up. If needed, check bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
  • Use shielded twisted pair for communications, grounded at one end, and do not run it in a long bundle with high-power cables.
  • On first connection, prove bidirectional read and write and threshold triggers with the platform in the lab, then move the node to site.
  • Outdoors, keep drainage and ventilation clear, inspect the sealing faces on a schedule, and keep lightning-protection earth resistance inside local limits.
  • In long-term service, spot-check samples and archive logs every 12 months.

Ordering, documents, and support

SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and sample projects for this node. Volume orders can include a sample review and in-plant inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the unit.
