Selection at a Glance
- Talks to an ultrasonic gas meter for actual volume, temperature and pressure correction, and event records (by model).
- Modbus and the other links in the table go up to the gas company's billing system or the park energy desk.
- Fits large commercial and industrial meters and regulating-station laterals, where explosion protection and lightning grounding have to meet the code.
- SimtoLink can supply an explosion-proof junction box, surge protection, and a reminder for the verification interval.
Product Overview and Engineering Role
The SimtoLink gas ultrasonic meter collector sends meter data up reliably, for stepped gas tariffs, leak warnings, and a picture of how gas is used, so fewer manual reads and fewer arguments over estimated bills.
SimtoLink supplies a protocol note for ultrasonic-meter vendors and a site time-sync plan. Volume jobs can share one key set and one OTA policy.
Reliability and Site Conditions
On electrical safety and EMC, this collector has cleared the relevant IEC 61000-4 Level 4 items. The ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a split layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters can be imported in bulk. Threshold rules, and event video or waveform capture, depend on the model. Configuration and firmware move by OTA. On site, run three checks: power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a spot check of samples. Where the collector is used for metering or for safety, SimtoLink can help with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key Hardware Parameters
The table is the typical configuration of this collector, for selection and for bid clauses. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant is available from SimtoLink with the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents shipped with the unit govern.
| Parameter | Specification | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Voltage | 3×220/380 V | Self-powered |
| Current | 1(120) A | Tamper detection |
| Accuracy class | Class B | IEC 62052 |
| Harmonics | 2nd~34th | THD analysis |
| Communications | Modbus | Dual port |
| Clock | GPS time-sync module | Time-of-use tariffs |
| Pulse | Active and reactive pulse outputs | Optically isolated |
| Power | <1.2 W | Single-phase or three-phase |
| Operating temperature | -26~61 ℃ | Outdoor meter box |
| Standards | IEC 62053 | Type approval |
Typical Deployments
Ways this collector usually lands on a job, for selection and for joint commissioning:
Furnaces and boilers
Live natural-gas use, paired with steam or heat meters for an energy KPI.
Restaurant clusters
Remote tenant sub-meters, so gas charges and property charges can be split.
Regulating cabinets and valve rooms
Lateral metering and abnormal-flow alarms, to help network dispatch.
Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance
- Before power-up, confirm the supply range and polarity. Check bus voltage and breaker rating with a meter when you need to.
- Use shielded twisted pair for the bus, ground the shield at one end, and do not bundle it with high-power cables for a long run.
- For the first connection, prove two-way reads and writes and a threshold trip against the platform in the lab, then move the collector to site.
- Outdoors, give water a way out and leave the enclosure able to breathe. Inspect the seal on a schedule. Lightning-ground resistance has to meet the local code.
- In service, sample the readings and archive the logs every 6 months.
Ordering, Documentation, and Support
SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project for this collector. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the unit.
