Product overview and where it fits

The SimtoLink environmental data-acquisition RTU connects flue-gas and water-quality analyzers and operating-condition signals. Minute-level local storage and a digital signature match the way environmental enforcement collects evidence. HJ212 and similar platform protocols can go straight to environmental-authority systems.

Access-control and retained-sample DI points make the monitoring record harder to dispute. Mains power plus a battery backup cuts gaps when the supply drops. SimtoLink supplies an instrument protocol library and templates for quality control and calibration, so emitters and maintenance contractors can stay compliant.

Reliability on site

For electrical safety and EMC, this RTU has cleared the relevant IEC 61000-4 Level 4 items. The ports carry surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a split layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal installs can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.

The software side can import parameters in bulk, apply threshold rules, and store event video or waveforms, depending on the model. Configuration and firmware move by OTA. On site, SimtoLink asks for three checks: power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a spot check of sampled readings. Where the reading is used for metering or for safety, we help send the unit to a third-party metrology institute and we provide the type-test file.

Key hardware parameters

The ratings below are the typical build of this RTU, written so a specifier can cite them in a bid clause. For a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant, ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the same family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents in the box govern.

Typical applications

Four field patterns for this RTU, useful when you are laying out a scheme and checking payback:

Fixed-source flue gas, online

CEMS data is gathered and operating conditions are tagged, which supports exceedance tracing and hourly-average reports.

Wastewater-plant outfall

COD, ammonia nitrogen, and similar instruments share one connection, and access-control video closes the evidence chain.

Chemical-park boundary

Multi-factor station data is encrypted on the way up, which meets the park's closed-management rules.

Third-party maintenance

Remote parameter audits and uploaded maintenance logs cut how often someone has to stay on site.

Installation, grounding, and maintenance

  • Confirm the supply range and polarity before power-up. If needed, check bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
  • Use shielded twisted pair for communications, grounded at one end, and do not run it in a long bundle with high-power cables.
  • On first connection, prove bidirectional read and write and threshold triggers with the platform in the lab, then move the RTU to site.
  • Outdoors, keep drainage and ventilation clear, inspect the sealing faces on a schedule, and keep lightning-protection earth resistance inside local limits.
  • In long-term service, spot-check samples and archive logs every 12 months.

Ordering, documents, and support

SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and sample projects for this RTU. Volume orders can include a sample review and in-plant inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the unit.
