Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink multi-parameter indoor air-quality station is an environmental-sensing node. The figures on this page are there for selection, for a tender clause, and for a later spot check. The host combines gas and particulate channels — electrochemical, light-scattering, metal-oxide, and others, mixed by order code — and is meant to stay predictable across wide temperature, wide pressure, and electromagnetic noise. Terminals pull out. Key chips have a watchdog and a redundant check. Signed firmware can roll back, which is what a volume shipment and remote service need.
Gigabit Ethernet and a standard industrial connector are the default, so the station can join SCADA, an energy system, or an IoT platform already on site. SimtoLink supplies a southbound point-table template and a northbound MQTT or HTTP push example, which shortens the joint test. Volume jobs can add silkscreen on the housing, a set cable length, a protocol map, and a calibration certificate.
Reliability and field fit
Electrical safety and EMC for this station follow the relevant CE and FCC test items. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a zoned layout limit ground loops and common-mode noise. Outdoor or coastal orders can take a higher ingress grade and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Software accepts a bulk parameter load, threshold policies, and event video or waveform capture on the models that include them. Configuration and firmware move by OTA. Sign-off on site is a power-on self-test, a communications time sync, and a sample check. Metering or safety use can include help with a third-party metrology submission and type-test papers.
Key hardware parameters
What follows is a typical build of this station, for a selection note or a tender clause. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant is quoted apart; ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ a little. The nameplate and the papers in the carton decide.
| Parameter | Specification | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sensing principle | Multi-parameter integrated host | CO₂ / PM / TVOC / temperature and humidity, and others, by order code |
| Typical range (example) | CO₂ 0~5000 ppm; PM2.5 0~1000 μg/m³ | See the specification for each sensing element |
| Typical resolution (example) | CO₂ 1 ppm; PM2.5 1 μg/m³ | Digital output |
| Repeatability | Per the rating of each sensing element | Calibrated at constant temperature and humidity |
| Long-term stability | Per the rating of each sensing element | Plan a joint calibration |
| Power | DC 12~24V | Reverse-polarity protection |
| Communications | Modbus RTU / Ethernet | Isolation depends on the model |
| Start-up | <120 s (typical) | Warm-up differs by sensing element |
| Operating temperature | 0~50 ℃ (typical indoor) | By order code |
| Explosion protection | Non-explosion-proof (typical) | Explosion-proof builds are by project |
Typical applications
Four rooms this station is usually asked to cover, when the return on the job is being judged:
Offices and smart buildings
Floors, meeting rooms, and open desks get a point. Fresh air and the air-conditioning terminal follow CO₂, VOC, and the other readings, so ventilation and alarms change with the air and complaints about drowsiness drop.
Schools, clinics, and public buildings
Classrooms, waiting areas, and public rooms show the IAQ curve on a public screen or the intranet. The record supports infection-control policy and keeps inspection and sample-check logs.
Campuses and underground retail
Return air in link corridors, garages, and plant floors is watched for spikes from fit-out work and vehicle exhaust. The energy platform then sets a time-of-day policy and attributes the energy.
Plant annexes and laboratories
The station sits outside a fume hood or in a reagent store, watching leakage and how well the air changes. EHS and occupational health get a number they can act on.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Confirm supply range and polarity before power. If the circuit is shared, measure bus voltage and breaker capacity with a multimeter.
- Communications cable is shielded twisted pair, grounded at one end. Do not lay it in a long bundle with high-power cable.
- Prove two-way reads and writes, and a threshold that fires, against the platform in the lab before the station goes on the wall.
- If any unit is outdoors, drainage and airflow come first. Inspect the sealing faces, and keep lightning-ground resistance inside the local rule.
- In long service, sample-check the station and archive logs every 24 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
SimtoLink includes the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and an example project with the station. Volume orders can add a sample review and inspection at the plant. Warranty and calibration are the terms in the contract and in the documents packed with the unit.
