Product Overview and Engineering Role
The SimtoLink GPU inference card box adds CUDA inference to an industrial PC or server you already have. The figures on this page are there so a specifier can settle a selection, cite them in a bid, and check them again in service. Supply and cooling in the box are sized for long FP16/INT8 runs, and for several video streams and feature tensors at once. It takes a standard driver stack and a container mount. Firmware includes a watchdog and a health probe, so a batch can ship and then be maintained from a distance.
The data path is host PCIe, plus an auxiliary power connector. The box handles blower or multi-fan cooling and over-temperature protection. SimtoLink supplies a chassis compatibility list, peak power, and a cable sheet, so joint commissioning with an existing industrial PC or server is shorter. Volume jobs can include a rail bracket and a suggested point for inlet-air temperature.
Reliability and Site Conditions
On electrical safety and EMC, this box has cleared the relevant CCC items. The ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a split layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
TensorRT, ONNX, and the matching driver are checked against the host OS. Firmware and driver updates follow the vendor's release cadence. On site, run three checks: power-on self-test, a GPU stress run with the health probe, and a spot check of inference accuracy. Where the box is used for metering or for safety, SimtoLink can help with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key Hardware Parameters
The table is the typical configuration of this card box, for selection and for bid clauses. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant is available from SimtoLink with the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents shipped with the box govern.
| Parameter | Specification | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Inference performance | Depends on the NVIDIA or domestic accelerator (INT8/FP16, by card and driver) | Match host power and PCIe bandwidth |
| Host interface | PCIe Gen4 x16 (confirm on the unit and the board) | Check slot electrical length and chassis clearance |
| Memory | Follows the accelerator | Sets video batch size and model footprint |
| Box supply | DC 12–48 V into the box, plus PCIe auxiliary power (by design) | Overcurrent, over-temperature, and fan alarms |
| Cooling | Blower or multi-fan duct | Inlet temperature and filter interval |
| Software stack | CUDA / TensorRT / ONNX Runtime (by host OS and version matrix) | Prove it with the container runtime |
| Network | Application traffic stays on the host NIC; the box may have no service port of its own | Watch NUMA and PCIe topology with several cards |
| Operating temperature | 0–45 ℃ (typical, by card TDP and inlet air) | Keep the duct clear and the dust out on an industrial site |
| Mechanical | Half-height or full-height bracket; rail bracket optional | Check fit in a 4U IPC or a wall-mount chassis |
| Monitoring | GPU temperature, power, ECC (by card) | Health probe into the existing operations platform |
Typical Deployments
Four layouts that come up when you add a card box and look at payback:
Inspection and AOI upgrades
Drop it into an IPC you already have, raise throughput, and shorten the model cycle.
Multi-stream video analytics
Face, vehicle, and behavior models run as parallel instances, with memory and compute shared as the load moves.
Research and simulation
A light training trial and an inference benchmark share the machine, so an A/B comparison stays on one box.
Private-cloud inference pool
Several card boxes form a pool, and an orchestrator schedules them by task priority.
Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance
- Before power-up, confirm the supply range and polarity. Check bus voltage and breaker rating with a meter when you need to.
- Use shielded twisted pair for the bus, ground the shield at one end, and do not bundle it with high-power cables for a long run.
- For the first connection, prove two-way reads and writes and a threshold trip against the platform in the lab, then move the box to site.
- Outdoors, give water a way out and leave the enclosure able to breathe. Inspect the seal on a schedule. Lightning-ground resistance has to meet the local code.
- In service, check inlet temperature, the fans, and GPU health every 6 months, and keep a record of driver changes.
Ordering, Documentation, and Support
SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project for this box. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the unit.
