Product Overview and Engineering Role
The SimtoLink hazardous-chemical traceability tag ties one code to one item, and to the batch, across production, storage, and transport. It can be read at goods-in, goods-out, tank transfer, and loading without opening the pack. Temperature and humidity, by order code, sit with the regulatory log, the emergency plan, and a recall drill. The job also has to meet the hazardous-area zone, static control, and the read range next to a metal tank. Package and band have to match the site explosion-proof certificate and the reader approval.
SimtoLink recommends binding the UID to the chemical catalog, the SDS revision, and the bin rule, and writing the encode rights and audit-log fields into the Hardware Specification. A volume job can be accepted together with an explosion-proof reader, access control, and video.
Reliability and Site Conditions
On electrical safety and EMC, this tag has cleared the relevant salt-spray and vibration type tests. The ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a split layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters can be imported in bulk. Threshold rules, and event video or waveform capture, depend on the model. Configuration and firmware move by OTA. On site, run three checks: power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a spot check of samples. Where the tag is used for metering or for safety, SimtoLink can help with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key Hardware Parameters
The table is the typical configuration of this tag, for selection and for bid clauses. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant is available from SimtoLink with the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents shipped with the tag govern.

Typical Deployments
Four layouts that come up when you size a traceability tag and look at payback:
Production and filling
A batch is bound to the drum or bottle, so line-side charging does not pick the wrong material.
Class A and Class B stores
The base for a stock count by zone, and a warning when incompatible goods are over-stored.
Transport and ports
The load and unload handshake checks itself, so a paper waybill is less likely to be missed.
Supervision and dual prevention
Patrols around a major hazard source, with an electronic log.
Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance
- Before power-up, confirm the supply range and polarity. Check bus voltage and breaker rating with a meter when you need to.
- Use shielded twisted pair for the bus, ground the shield at one end, and do not bundle it with high-power cables for a long run.
- For the first connection, prove two-way reads and writes and a threshold trip against the platform in the lab, then move the tag to site.
- Outdoors, give water a way out and leave the enclosure able to breathe. Inspect the seal on a schedule. Lightning-ground resistance has to meet the local code.
- In service, sample the readings and archive the logs every 12 months.
Ordering, Documentation, and Support
SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project for this tag. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the unit.
