Selection at a glance
- Analog loops for temperature, pressure, flow, and level, with self-tuning and anti-windup built in.
- Channel-isolated analog inputs and outputs, optional HART pass-through, ready for a control valve or a variable-speed drive.
- DIN rail, coupled to the master over a backplane or a fieldbus, for turning an old loop into a smart controller.
- Parameters download in a batch, and the module can record waveforms, so a DCS or PLC can keep its own layer of maintenance.
What the module takes off the CPU
The SimtoLink PID loop control module runs a classic PID in hardware, or partly in hardware, so the main CPU spends less of its scan on the loop. Kilns, boilers, and constant-pressure pump sets then get a control result that stays stable and predictable.
SimtoLink includes a tuning sequence, notes on valve-characteristic compensation, and a checklist for bumpless hand-to-auto changeover. With remote I/O and an HMI it can stand as a minimum closed-loop station, which shortens the time to put the loop in service.
CCC on a control module
The relevant CCC items cover electrical safety and EMC on this module. Ports carry surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout reduce ground loops and common-mode interference. Outdoor and coastal orders can take a higher ingress rating and an anti-corrosion coating.
Parameters import in a batch. Threshold policies, and event video or waveform capture, follow the ordered model. Configuration and firmware both update over OTA. Close acceptance with a power-on self-test, time sync, and a sampling spot check. For metering or a safety use, SimtoLink helps submit the unit to a third-party metrology institute and supplies the type-test papers.
Key specifications
The table is the typical hardware of this module, for a selection note or a tender clause. A wider range, a redundant supply, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant is ordered separately. Ask SimtoLink for the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the papers in the box govern.

Loops it usually closes
Three ways this module lands on a job, so selection and the joint test share one picture:
Heat treatment and kilns
Cascade across temperature zones and add feedforward so a door opening, or a swing in gas heating value, does not overshoot.
Pumps and constant network pressure
Rotate variable-speed pumps, wake them from sleep, and feed forward on pressure rate of change so water hammer and short cycling both drop.
Air conditioning and cleanrooms
Couple supply-air temperature, humidity, and differential pressure, and drive the dampers so the room saves energy and holds its pressure.
Power, cable, and the two-year check
- Confirm the supply range and polarity before the module is powered. If the rail label is doubtful, measure bus voltage and breaker capacity.
- Run communications on shielded twisted pair with the shield at one end, and keep long runs out of the high-power bundle.
- On the bench, prove read and write both ways and fire a threshold against the platform before the module goes to the panel.
- If it is outdoors, drainage and venting come first. Inspect the seals, and set lightning-earth resistance to the local code.
- In service, spot-check a sample of points and archive the logs every 24 months.
Ordering and support
SimtoLink ships a hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project. Volume orders can include a sample review and an in-factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers shipped with the module.
