Pressure and level on the process line
SimtoLink pressure sensors use a diffused-silicon or ceramic piezoresistive element. Spans run from 0~0.1MPa to 0~60MPa at 0.5%FS, for gauge, absolute, and differential pressure.
The same family covers pipeline pressure, liquid level, and tank monitoring. Output is a 4~20mA current loop or RS485/Modbus, and the housing is built for explosion-proof and corrosion-resistant duty. Aging and temperature compensation keep linearity and repeatability across the full span. The sensors are already in petrochemical, power, water, and pharmaceutical plants, with more than 100,000 units shipped and a reported failure rate below 0.1%.
Specifications and selection
Range, process medium, and mounting style set the model. The table lists typical values used for process monitoring.
| Application | Specification | Output / material / protocol |
|---|---|---|
| Pipeline pressure | 0.1~60MPa | 4~20mA / Modbus |
| Level transmitter | Submersible or flanged; high-accuracy models to ±0.25%FS | 4~20mA / Modbus |
| Process connection | G1/4, M20×1.5 | 316L / Hastelloy |
| Extended protocol | HART optional | DCS integration |
Supply is DC 12~36V. Medium temperature is -20℃~85℃. Overload is 2 times full scale and burst pressure is 4 times full scale. HART is available for integration with a DCS. These figures are typical of the standard model; confirm the ordered unit against the product specification.
Where plants use it
The same sensor family shows up on petrochemical pipelines, in water-plant pump rooms, and on hygienic pharmaceutical lines, wherever pressure has to be watched or closed into a control loop.
Leak warning on petrochemical lines
A petrochemical operator brought the sensors into the pipeline monitoring system, reading more than 80 points and running leak warning at the edge. Unplanned shutdowns dropped.
Closed-loop pressure in a pump room
A water plant put the sensors in the pump room and closed the loop on supply pressure, cutting energy use by about 12%.
Hygienic lines in a pharmaceutical plant
A pharmaceutical plant fitted hygienic sensors on clean pipelines, with 316L stainless diaphragms and clamp connections, to meet GMP and to record fermenter and reactor pressure as it happens.
Hydraulic power-unit pressure
A machinery builder fitted sensors on the hydraulic power unit so system pressure is watched continuously and an over-pressure trip can stop the machine before it is damaged.
Selection and installation
- Medium and material. For corrosive media, choose a 316L stainless or Hastelloy diaphragm. Hazardous areas need intrinsic safety or an explosion-proof housing. Where pressure pulses at high frequency, add a damper or a snubber.
- Level. For level, use a submersible or flanged level transmitter on an open vessel or a closed tank.
- Installation and sealing. Seal the process connection so the joint does not leak. Route the impulse line so air and debris stay out of it. On hot or corrosive media, add a condensate trap or an isolation diaphragm.
- Calibration. Calibrate zero and span before the first start. Send the instrument for inspection once a year. On critical points, fit a second sensor or compare it on a set interval against a reference gauge.
- How we help. State the medium, temperature range, and mounting method when you order. SimtoLink supplies a selection chart, on-site calibration, and rental of calibration equipment so a measurement routine can be put in place.
From order to routine checks
Take the deployment in this order:
SimtoLink calibrates on site and rents the calibration equipment, with a one-year warranty and lifetime maintenance, and can help when a unit fails or the model needs to be changed.
Support
SimtoLink helps with model selection, installation guidance, on-site calibration, and submission for inspection, including explosion-proof and hygienic certified models. Product manuals and quotations are available on request.
