Selection at a glance
- Differential or open-collector pulse, direction, and enable, for mainstream steppers and pulse-type servos.
- Multi-axis sync and the electronic gear ratio are configurable. A hardware compare output can fire a camera, a dispenser, or a marker.
- Isolated ports and an e-stop chain port support machine safety integration and zoned cabinet grounding.
- Usual machines are packaging, 3C assembly, and inspection, beside a motion PLC or a dedicated controller.
Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink stepper and servo pulse-output module shapes and isolates high-speed pulses between the CPU and the drive. That cuts lost steps and false triggers from common-ground noise, which matters when position and the trigger instant have to be tight.
SimtoLink supplies a wiring sketch, the maximum pulse frequency, and a suggested cable length. The e-stop sequence can be defined with the STO loop of a safety PLC.
Reliability and field fit
Salt-spray and vibration type-test items that apply to this pulse module are covered. Each port has surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced ground and a split layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal cabinets can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Bulk parameter import, threshold policies, and event video or waveform capture depend on the model. Configuration and firmware update over the air. On site, accept the module with a power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a sample spot check. For metering or safety duty, SimtoLink helps file with a third-party metrology institute and supplies the type-test papers.
Key hardware parameters
The ratings are a typical build of this pulse module, for a selection note or a tender clause. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe version is a separate request; ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly. Follow the nameplate and the papers shipped with the module.

Typical applications
Three stations where this pulse module usually sits, for selection and for joint commissioning:
Dispensing and coating
A hardware compare at the start of a path segment fires the glue valve, so software jitter does not shift the dose.
On-the-fly vision
An encoder position-compare output times the camera exposure, so a fast line catches more defects.
3C assembly and test
Extra pulse axes for multi-axis transfer and press stations, with an electronic gear that follows line speed.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Before you apply power, confirm the supply window and polarity. Measure bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter when the cabinet drawing is unclear.
- Use shielded twisted pair for the link, ground the shield at one end only, and keep it off long parallel runs with high-power cable.
- Prove read and write both ways, and a threshold trip, against the platform in the lab before the module goes on the machine.
- Outdoors, give the enclosure a drain path and ventilation. Recheck the seal face. Lightning earth resistance has to meet the local code.
- On a machine that stays in production, take a sample spot check and archive logs every 24 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
Wiring tables, outline drawings, an example project, and the hardware specification are available for this pulse module. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory-floor inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers packed with the unit.
