Selection at a glance
- One meter covers many circuits, so meter positions and communications ports stay few on a dense feeder board.
- External CTs, harmonic analysis, and LoRa reporting are in the table, and the points can be mapped to an EMS in one pass.
- GPS time sync and a pulse output line events up and let a third party check the meter.
- SimtoLink can supply a circuit-naming convention, a CT capacity roll-up, and notes on busbar temperature rise.
Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink sub-metering multi-circuit meter is for one floor with many tenants, or one cabinet with many feeders. Circuit-level energy is gathered in one instrument, so cabinet wiring and later service stay simpler.
Register groups and a master-station bulk-provisioning template are available. On a retrofit, tariffs and time sync can be lined up with DIN-rail meters and the boundary meter.
Reliability and field fit
IEC 61000-4 Level 4 items that apply to this meter cover electrical safety and EMC. Ports are protected against surge and reversed polarity. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout cut ground-loop and common-mode risk. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters load in bulk, thresholds can be set, and models that include it can store event video or a waveform. Configuration and firmware go out over the air. Acceptance on site is a power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a sample spot check. For metering or safety use, SimtoLink helps with a third-party metrology-institute submission and supplies the type-test file.
Key hardware parameters
The table is a typical build of this multi-circuit meter, for a selection note or a tender clause. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe version is quoted separately; ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly. The nameplate and the papers shipped with the meter govern.

Typical applications
Three ways this meter usually lands on a job, for selection and for joint commissioning:
R&D and test distribution
When several loads share a bus, each circuit is metered on its own, so energy and carbon can be attributed.
Office-building risers
Several tenant feeders on a floor share one meter, so riser meter positions and communications runs stay fewer.
Workshop busbar
Workstation outlet circuits are split out, so idle load and standby energy show up.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Confirm supply range and polarity before this meter is powered. If the drawing is unclear, measure bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
- Run communications on shielded twisted pair, ground the shield at one end, and keep it off a long bundle with high-power cable.
- Prove bidirectional read and write and a threshold trip against the platform in the lab before the meter goes into the cabinet.
- An outdoor box needs a drain path and a way to breathe. Recheck the seal face on rounds. Lightning-protection earth resistance has to meet the local code.
- On a meter that stays in service, take a sample spot check and archive the logs every 12 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
SimtoLink can supply the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and an example project for this meter. Volume orders can include a sample review and inspection at the factory. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers packed with the meter.
