Face recognition · Video intercom · 4G connectivity · 100–500 MB per unit per month
The smart access-control and video-intercom solution is built for communities, buildings, parks, construction sites, and campuses. Over IoT, it handles face-recognition entry, video intercom, visitor management, and attendance. A conventional access system depends on a wired network. New projects with no conduit, older communities being renovated, temporary worksites, and remote parks are hard to wire, and that is what holds smart security back.
A 4G cellular link connects turnstiles, door stations, and indoor units, so a site can go live without pulling cable. It covers face-recognition entry (liveness detection, 1:N matching, and blocklist alerts), video intercom (visitor calls, remote door release, and video calls), visitor management (visitor bookings, QR entry, and visitor records), and attendance (entry and exit logs, attendance reports, and exception alerts). Each unit uses 100–500 MB a month. Face matching and video calls account for most of that. The system can connect to a property platform, a one-card system, and the public security system, for smart communities, smart buildings, smart parks, smart campuses, and smart construction sites.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's Smart Community Construction Guide requires community access control to support face recognition, visitor management, and a link to the public security system. Wired access needs network cable in the walls. New projects take a long time to build that way, older communities are hard to retrofit, and a temporary worksite cannot be cabled. 4G is ready as soon as the unit is powered, and deployment drops from several weeks to a few days. It fits new communities that do not yet have broadband, older communities with no conduit, temporary gates on construction sites, remote parks, and self-built rural houses.
Data use splits by function. Face matching, local 1:N or in the cloud, is about 50–200 MB a month. A video-intercom session is about 2–5 MB. Entry, exit, and attendance reports are about 10–50 MB a month. An offline face library still recognizes people when the link is down, then syncs the blocklist and uploads records once it is back. The system can also connect to the public security key-person database, so a blocklist update takes effect as it arrives.
New projects should ship with a 4G module already fitted. Access units already in place can take a 4G gateway as an add-on. Face data is biometric information and has to follow the Personal Information Protection Law. Store it locally, encrypt it in transit, and collect it only with the user's authorization. Before connecting a property platform, confirm the protocol, such as an HTTP API or MQTT, so many projects and many devices can be managed together. SimtoLink supplies a data pool and a private APN, with APIs into the access platform and the public security system.
What a smart access point needs to do, from the gate to the attendance report
Liveness detection, 1:N matching, and blocklist alerts. An offline face library and cloud matching are both supported, so accuracy and response time hold up.
Visitor calls, remote door release, and video calls. The door station can work with a phone app, an indoor unit, and the property center, so a resident can talk and open the door from elsewhere.
Visitor bookings, QR entry, and visitor records. Bookings can be approved, temporary access granted, and a visitor's path traced afterward.
Entry and exit logs, attendance reports, and exception alerts. Totals can be cut by person, by department, or by time of day, and an unusual entry raises an alert as it happens.
Community gates, building entrances, and underground garage entries
Office lobbies, elevator halls, and floor corridors
Industrial parks, factory gates, and workshop entrances
Site gates, living quarters, and temporary access into the work area
Each access unit uses 100–500 MB a month, spent mainly on face matching, video calls, and entry and exit reports. SimtoLink supplies 4G IoT SIMs, a data pool, and APIs into the access platform and the property system. That fits new projects with no wired network, older communities being renovated, and temporary worksites. Intelligent switching among operators keeps the session up, and a link to the public security system can act on a key-person blocklist as it changes.
