Connected drying racks with remote control, weather response, drying, and sterilization for an easier home drying routine
The smart clothes-drying solution is for drying-rack makers, smart-home platforms, and households. Using IoT, it connects the rack and makes it useful from a distance. A traditional rack is raised and lowered by hand. It cannot be controlled remotely, it cannot follow the weather, and it cannot report drying or sterilization. A connected rack adds lift, lighting, drying, and sterilization, then remote control, scene routines, and timely reminders.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G cover remote control (lift, light, dry, and sterilize from afar), weather response (a weather API, automatic retract in rain, and a UV reminder), status (drying and sterilization state, run time, and fault alarms), and scenes (for example, retract on “away”). It can link to Mi Home, Tmall Genie, and XiaoAI. In hotels, apartments, and dorms there is often no guest Wi-Fi, so 4G is how the rack is managed and controlled.
At home the rack uses Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, through the router, the phone, and a smart speaker, and it joins Mi Home or Tmall Genie for weather and scene routines. Commercial sites are different. Hotel rooms: a balcony rack has no guest Wi-Fi, so 4G handles central management, remote control, and energy totals. Long-stay apartments: the landlord manages racks across many units, and 4G needs no setup on site. Dorms and shared laundry rooms: racks in a common drying area go online for remote control and fault alerts. A commercial rack typically uses 10–50 MB a month, mostly for status, remote control, and OTA updates.
Home racks should prefer Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and join a smart-home platform. Commercial racks should leave the factory with a 4G module and connect to the hotel PMS or the apartment system. SimtoLink supplies 4G IoT SIMs, a data pool, and APIs into smart-home platforms. Connectivity is about RMB 1–3 per rack per month, and a data pool keeps cost down when there are many racks. Weather routines need a weather API. Pick a reliable source so a rain retract actually happens when it rains.
What a connected drying rack is asked to do
Raise, light, dry, and sterilize from a phone app or a smart speaker. When you are out, you can still lift the rack, switch the light, and start drying or sterilization.
A weather API retracts the rack when rain is detected, and it reminds you to bring clothes in when UV is high.
Start drying or sterilization remotely, report the mode and how long it has run, and raise a fault alarm.
Retract on “away” and lower on “home”, with links to Mi Home, Tmall Genie, and similar platforms.

Guest-balcony racks on 4G, managed from one place
Shared drying areas in student dorms and long-stay apartments
Drying that sits beside a commercial or self-service laundry
At home the rack talks to the router, the phone, and a smart speaker over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Hotels, apartments, and dorms often have no guest Wi-Fi, or they need one place to manage every rack, so a 4G IoT SIM is the link. SimtoLink supplies those SIMs, a data pool, and APIs into smart-home platforms. A rack typically uses 10–50 MB a month, mostly for status, remote control, and OTA updates.
