Definition

Revenue Sharing (Revenue Sharing) refers to a business model in which multiple parties distribute profits according to an agreed-upon ratio. In IoT and cross-border scenarios, revenue sharing is commonly seen in: Charging Operations—charging stations where site owners, operators, and platforms share charging revenue; Platform Cooperation—charging operation platforms, logistics platforms and partners share revenue; Cross-border Settlement—OCPI in cross-border charging scenarios, CPOs (Charging Point Operators) and eMSPs (e-Mobility Service Providers) share revenue and settle accounts; Traffic and Connectivity—channel revenue sharing for IoT SIM cards and connectivity services. Revenue sharing relies on accurate measurement, meter data, as well as data synchronization and settlement system support.

Cross-border profit sharing needs to consider multiple currencies, multiple time zones, taxes, on-chain settlement, etc.; one card for multiple countries ensures data backflow for cross-border charging scenarios, supporting profit-sharing calculations.

Technical Features and Architecture

The profit-sharing technical architecture includes: metering layer—— metering, metered values, remote meter reading to collect transaction data; settlement layer——calculates each party's due amount according to profit-sharing rules, supporting OCPI CDR, charging platform transaction data; payment layer——multi-currency settlement, cross-border payment, on-chain settlement; reconciliation layer——multi-party reconciliation, data synchronization. Combined with charging operation platform, profit sharing is the core business logic between the platform and site owners or partners; combined with platform integration, profit sharing needs to interface with multiple platform data. In cross-border scenarios, the profit-sharing system needs to support multiple national currencies, exchange rates, and taxes.

Profit-sharing rules can be configured as fixed ratios, tiered ratios, guaranteed minimum plus share, etc.; it is necessary to ensure the security of sensitive data.

Application in IoT and cross-border scenarios

Revenue sharing is widely applied to:Charging operation——Charging Station, EV Charging Station Revenue sharing between site owners and operators from charging,Charging operation platform Revenue sharing with CPO;Cross-border charging——OCPI In the cross-border charging scenario, the profit sharing and settlement between CPOs and eMSPs in various countries,One SIM for Multiple Countries Ensuring the cross-border return of charging data;Logistics Platform——Logistics Platform Profit sharing with carriers and warehousing providers;Internet of Things connectivity— profit sharing between service providers, channels, and operators. Cross-border charging networks, global logistics, and multinational platform cooperation all rely on profit sharing to achieve a win-win situation for multiple parties. One SIM for Multiple Countries Ensure cross-border data backhaul to support profit sharing calculation.

SimtoLink provides stable connections for IoT devices in profit-sharing scenarios, covering more than 200 countries and regions, supporting cross-border charging stations , OCPI and other scenarios for data return and profit-sharing settlement.
