EE Overview
EE (Everything Everywhere) is a leading mobile network operator in the UK, affiliated with BT Group (British Telecom Group). EE was founded in April 2010 through the merger of T-Mobile UK and Orange UK, initially as a joint venture with each of Deutsche Telekom and France Télécom holding 50% of the shares. In 2012, EE was the first in the UK to launch a commercial 4G LTE network, becoming the UK's first 4G operator; in 2019, it was also the first to commercially launch a 5G network in the UK, continuously leading the evolution of mobile communication technology in the country.
In the field of the Internet of Things (IoT), EE leverages BT Group's global enterprise service capabilities to provide IoT connectivity, network slicing, and dedicated APN services to UK and multinational companies. EE's 5G network slicing technology can provide customized QoS guarantees for scenarios such as industrial IoT and connected vehicles. Its NB-IoT and LTE-M networks cover major cities in the UK, supporting low-power applications such as smart metering and asset tracking.

Development History and Milestones
EE's predecessor can be traced back to Orange UK, established in 1993, and One 2 One, established in 1994 (later renamed T-Mobile UK). In April 2010, Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom merged their UK subsidiaries to form Everything Everywhere, becoming the largest mobile operator in the UK. In October 2012, EE was the first in the UK to launch commercial 4G LTE services, about a year ahead of competitors; the brand was simplified to "EE" in the same year. In 2015, the T-Mobile and Orange brands were fully retired in the UK and unified as EE. In January 2016, BT Group acquired EE for £12.5 billion, making EE BT's consumer mobile division, creating a bundled service advantage with BT's fixed-line and broadband businesses.
In terms of IoT and 5G development: In May 2019, EE first launched commercial 5G in six major UK cities; by 2020, EE's 5G network covered the main cities of the UK; in 2022, EE launched 5G network slicing commercial services, providing dedicated network resources for enterprises and IoT applications; by 2024, EE's 5G users exceeded 10.8 million, full-fiber users reached 3.2 million, and bundled services became a growth engine.
