TIM Brasil (TIM S.A.) is Brazil's second-largest mobile operator and part of Italy's TIM Group. It has operated in Brazil for more than 25 years, reaches every municipality, and has about 180,000 km of fiber. It serves about 62 million mobile users on 4G and 5G. In 2024 its share was about 23.6%, still second in Brazilian mobile.
For IoT, TIM Brasil uses that coverage and the fiber backbone. Enterprises can get M2M connectivity, a private APN, and a fixed IP. The industries named here are connected vehicles, finance, logistics, and agriculture.

Development History and Milestones
TIM Brasil's predecessor can be traced back to the privatization of Brazilian telecommunications in 1998, when the Italian Telecom Group entered the Brazilian market. In the 2000s, the TIM brand was established in Brazil, becoming one of the country's major mobile operators. From 2015 to 2020, TIM's user base decreased from about 66.2 million to approximately 51.4 million, facing intense competition. Since 2022, the user base has resumed growth, reaching around 62.5 million.
In 2021, TIM Brasil participated in Anatel's 5G spectrum auction and successfully won the bid, starting the construction of its 5G network. The company continues to invest in fiber network expansion, developing both fixed-line and mobile sectors. TIM Brasil has strong competitiveness in the Brazilian IoT market, especially in the M2M connectivity sector for small and medium enterprises.
