Product overview and where it fits

The SimtoLink finger-vein recognition module checks a live identity where humidity is high, oil is on the skin, or the fingerprint is worn. It matches the pattern of veins under the skin, which is hard to copy and hard to intercept. It is usually built into an access reader, a self-service terminal, or an attendance unit for special operations. The module offers a standard serial or Wiegand interface and a timed fill light. It guides finger placement, the false-rejection and false-acceptance thresholds can be set, and it holds infrared interference down in sunlight, so it joins an access controller or a Linux or Android host quickly.

For a bid and for acceptance, state the enrollment count, the 1:N capacity, and the match latency. Run the ESD, vibration, and high/low-temperature storage tests in the hardware specification. For finance or a classified site, the review can include a secure element and encrypted template storage.

Reliability on site

For electrical safety and EMC, this module has cleared the relevant IEC 61000-4 Level 4 items. The ports carry surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a split layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal installs can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.

The software side can import parameters in bulk, apply threshold rules, and store event video or waveforms, depending on the model. Configuration and firmware move by OTA. On site, SimtoLink asks for three checks: power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a spot check of sampled readings. Where the reading is used for metering or for safety, we help send the unit to a third-party metrology institute and we provide the type-test file.

Key hardware parameters

The ratings below are the typical build of this module, written so a specifier can cite them in a bid clause. For a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant, ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the same family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents in the box govern.

Typical applications

Four field patterns for this module, useful when you are laying out a scheme and checking payback:

Shop-floor access

Reliable clock-in and zone permissions when gloves are oily.

Labs and data centers

Two-person, two-lock control, a second check on sensitive rooms, and an audit log.

Hospitals and pharmacies

A strong identity check at the nurses’ station, the narcotics cabinet, and the supplies room.

Government and bank kiosks

Helps person-and-ID checks, and it fits inside a counter or a self-service unit.

Installation, grounding, and maintenance

  • Confirm the supply range and polarity before power-up. If needed, check bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
  • Use shielded twisted pair for communications, grounded at one end, and do not run it in a long bundle with high-power cables.
  • On first connection, prove bidirectional read and write and threshold triggers with the platform in the lab, then move the module to site.
  • Outdoors, keep drainage and ventilation clear, inspect the sealing faces on a schedule, and keep lightning-protection earth resistance inside local limits.
  • In long-term service, spot-check samples and archive logs every 24 months.

Ordering, documents, and support

SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and sample projects for this module. Volume orders can include a sample review and in-plant inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the unit.
