Product Overview and Engineering Role

The SimtoLink four-door access controller runs up to four doors in a small or mid-size building, or in one zone. It schedules readers, electric locks, exit buttons, door contacts, and anti-passback from one panel, and links to a host, a one-card platform, or an IoT gateway over TCP/IP and RS485. Event records stay through a power loss. Dual-controller hot standby is available by order code. Fire-alarm release and a silent duress-code report are included, so an integrator can wire the panel in a standard low-voltage cabinet, run a power-on self-test, and push policies in a batch.

SimtoLink recommends writing lock-drive current, flyback protection, and battery runtime into the Hardware Specification, and finishing the timing sheet for elevator, visitor, and video interlock. A larger site can cascade controllers to add doors.

Reliability and Site Conditions

This controller has cleared the relevant CE and FCC items. The ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. A reinforced ground and a split layout keep ground loops and common-mode noise down. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.

Parameters can be imported in bulk. Threshold rules, and event or waveform capture, depend on the model. Configuration and firmware move by OTA. On site, run three checks: power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a spot check of stored events. Where the panel is used for metering or for safety, SimtoLink can help with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.

Key Hardware Parameters

The table is the typical configuration of this four-door controller, for selection and for bid clauses. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant is available from SimtoLink with the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents shipped with the panel govern.

Typical Deployments

Four layouts that come up when you size a door package and look at payback:

Office floor

Readers on both sides of a fire compartment, with a different schedule at arrival and departure peaks.

Factory shop-floor access

Interlock between the changing room and the clean area, with temporary grants from the shift lead.

Campus lab building

Labs open on a schedule, and rooms with valuable equipment use a two-person rule.

Equipment room and carrier room

A card plus a remote check, with alarms for intrusion and for a door held open.

Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance

  • Before power-up, confirm the supply range and polarity. Check bus voltage and breaker rating with a meter when you need to.
  • Use shielded twisted pair for the bus, ground the shield at one end, and do not bundle it with high-power cables for a long run.
  • For the first connection, prove two-way reads and writes and a threshold trip against the platform in the lab, then move the panel to site.
  • Outdoors, give water a way out and leave the enclosure able to breathe. Inspect the seal on a schedule. Lightning-ground resistance has to meet the local code.
  • In service, sample the logs and archive them every 12 months.

Ordering, Documentation, and Support

SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project for this controller. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the panel.
