Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink oil and gas wellhead remote terminal reads tubing pressure, casing pressure, temperature, and valve position at the wellhead. Intrinsically safe or flameproof options and a wide temperature range fit outdoor and hazardous-area service. A wired private network and a cellular backup can be set for the link that is actually there.
Encryption and a remote parameter lock cut the chance of a bad command, so the wellhead can be managed inside field SCADA and the production command platform. SimtoLink supplies a wellhead instrument interface list, lightning-protection grounding notes, and advice on winter insulation.
Reliability and field fit
Electrical safety and EMC follow the relevant CE and FCC test items. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced ground and a zoned layout limit ground loops and common-mode noise. A higher ingress grade and a corrosion-resistant coating are options for outdoor or coastal wells.
Parameters import in bulk, with threshold policies and event video or waveform capture on the models that include them. Configuration and firmware go out over OTA. Site acceptance is a power-on self-test, a communications time sync, and a sample check. Metering or safety use can include help with a third-party metrology submission and type-test documents.
Key hardware parameters
The figures are a typical build of this wellhead terminal, for selection and for a tender clause. For a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant, ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly. The nameplate and the documents shipped with the unit govern.

Typical applications
Four well types this terminal is usually asked to cover, when the return is being judged:
Onshore conventional oil and gas wells
Casing pressure trends and abnormal well warnings, aligning remote lock strategies with on-site operation ticket processes.
Shale gas and tight oil
Batch access for multiple well sites, narrowband backup ensures key data upload in case of fiber breaks.
Water injection wells and displacement processes
Valve position and pressure linkage monitoring, supporting injection and production balance and process parameter optimization.
Frontline node of gas gathering station
Wellhead data preprocessing and caching, reducing access pressure on the main gas gathering station.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Before powering on, confirm the power supply range and polarity. If necessary, use a multimeter to verify the bus voltage and circuit breaker capacity.
- Communication cables should use shielded twisted pairs with single-end grounding, and avoid bundling with high-power cables for long-distance laying.
- For the first commissioning, it is recommended to complete bidirectional read/write and threshold trigger verification with the platform in the laboratory before migrating to the site.
- For outdoor installation, priority should be given to drainage and ventilation. Regularly inspect sealed surfaces; lightning protection grounding resistance must meet local regulations.
- For long-term operation, it is recommended to perform sampling inspections and log archiving every 12 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
SimtoLink provides hardware specifications, structural dimension drawings, wiring tables, and example projects; bulk orders support sample review and on-site factory inspection. Warranty and calibration policies are subject to the contract and accompanying documents.
