What the badge is for
The SimtoLink personnel-badge locating card is worn, so a site can tell who is inside a zone, who crossed a line, and whether a track stayed continuous. It works beside UHF read points, an LPWAN backhaul, or AoA anchors, and it feeds visual attendance, door interlocking, and an emergency headcount for visitors, contractors, and shift crews. The body keeps a low RF window, a hanger or clip that fits either way, and a UID write that matches across a batch, so the register, a lost-card note, and the tender clause all name the same object.
Before the card meets access control, lift control, or a visitor desk, check read range, multi-tag anti-collision, and encrypted-area rights against the Hardware Specification. On a volume order SimtoLink can print the face, add a color stripe, set the lanyard hole, and issue a sample-card test report.
CCC and the card body
The relevant CCC items cover electrical safety and EMC. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout cut ground loops and common-mode noise. Outdoor and coastal orders can take a higher ingress rating and an anti-corrosion coating.
Parameters load from a batch file. Threshold policies, and event video or waveform capture, follow the model you order. Configuration and firmware both update over OTA. Close the site in three checks: power-on self-test, time sync, and a sampling spot check. If the card sits on a metering or safety path, SimtoLink helps with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key specifications
These are the typical hardware figures for this badge, for selection and for a tender clause. A wider range, a redundant supply, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant is a separate request. Ask SimtoLink for the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the papers shipped with the cards govern.

Where the card is worn
Four layouts, for the scheme and for a payback note:
Parks and office buildings
Badge the door, set zone rights, and tie a visitor pass to the lift and the turnstile.
Plant and warehouse
Alarm a restricted entry, check who is on the crew, and keep a track of key areas for the safety and environment audit.
Hospitals and schools
Staff and students wear the card. Issue a visitor card and cancel it on the way out, so a borrowed identity is harder to use.
Shows and events
Short-life credentials, a fast check-in, and a density assist. Collect the cards in a batch when the event ends.
Power, cable, and the half-year check
- Before power-up, confirm the supply range and polarity. If the label is unclear, measure bus voltage and breaker capacity with a meter.
- Run the link on shielded twisted pair, ground the shield at one end only, and do not lay a long run in the same bundle as high-power cable.
- On the bench, prove read and write both ways and trip a threshold against the platform, then take the cards to site.
- Outdoors, give water a way out and air a way in. Walk the seal faces, and set lightning-earth resistance to the local code.
- In service, spot-check a sample and file the logs every 6 months.
Documents with the order
SimtoLink includes a hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project. Volume orders can add a sample review and an inspection at the factory. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers in the box.
