Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink RTK high-precision GNSS receiver is for surveying and IoT installs. Ratings on this page support selection, a tender clause, and a later spot check. The measurement and communications path uses an automotive-grade ASIC, so behavior stays predictable across wide temperature, wide voltage, and electromagnetic interference. Terminals unplug, key chips carry a watchdog and a redundancy check, and critical firmware can be signature-checked and rolled back, which helps volume delivery and remote maintenance.
Gigabit Ethernet and standard industrial connectors are the default, so the receiver can join an existing SCADA system, an energy platform, or an IoT platform. SimtoLink supplies southbound point-table templates and northbound MQTT/HTTP push examples to shorten joint commissioning. A volume build can add a silk-screened shell, a set cable length, a protocol map, and a calibration certificate.
Reliability and field fit
Electrical safety and EMC coverage includes the salt-spray and vibration type-test items that apply to this receiver. Ports are protected against surge and reversed polarity. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout cut ground-loop and common-mode risk. A coastal or fully outdoor site can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters load in bulk, thresholds can be set, and event video or waveform records can be kept where the ordered model supports them. Configuration and firmware update over the air. Sign-off on site is three steps: power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a sample check. For metering or safety use, SimtoLink helps with a third-party metrology submission and supplies type-test documents.
Key hardware parameters
Figures below are a typical RTK receiver build, for engineering selection and for the technical schedule in a bid. For a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe version, ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents shipped with the unit govern.

Typical applications
Four field patterns, for laying out a design and for judging payback:
Precision agriculture and machine guidance
Centimeter-level path tracking for tractors, rice transplanters, and crop-protection machines, closed with prescription maps and work-quality checks, to cut overlap, missed spray, and compaction.
Surveying and deformation
Engineering survey, cadastral work, and long-term coordinates on slopes and bridges. With a reference-station network, post-processing reaches millimeter level and can raise an alarm.
Ports and special vehicles
High-precision position for container terminals, mining trucks, and unmanned flatbeds, for collision avoidance and automatic alignment.
Reference station and IoT
The receiver can act as a CORS or single-base node and broadcast corrections to mobile terminals and edge gateways in the area.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Confirm supply range and polarity before power is applied. Measure bus voltage and breaker rating if the drawing leaves room for doubt.
- Communications cable should be shielded twisted pair, grounded at one end, and kept clear of long runs beside high-power cables.
- Prove a two-way read and write and a threshold trip against the platform in the lab before the receiver moves to site.
- Outdoor mounts need a drain path and airflow. Recheck the sealing face. Lightning-earth resistance must meet the local code.
- In long service, spot-check a sample and archive logs every 12 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
SimtoLink issues the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and example projects. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory-floor inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers that ship with the receiver.
