Product overview and engineering role

The SimtoLink smart peephole video module is for narrow-channel video intercom and loitering detection at an entry door. Door thickness, a fixed peephole bore, and battery power still leave room for wide-angle distortion correction, infrared night vision, and a low-power event wake. The module works with a fingerprint-lock controller, a WiFi or Bluetooth gateway, and a property app for remote view, voice-changed intercom, a parcel-left reminder, and a pry alarm. Local TF recording is encrypted, and cloud event thumbnails are available.

In the hardware specification, state the alignment of the lens axis with the door viewer, whether PIR, radar, or both are used, and how the lithium cell fades and charges in the cold. A volume lock project can ask for a custom faceplate opening and a set cable length.

Reliability and field fit

Electrical safety and EMC coverage includes the CE/FCC items that apply to this module. Ports are protected against surge and reversed polarity. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout reduce ground-loop and common-mode interference. Outdoor or coastal sites can use a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.

Parameters load in bulk, thresholds can be set, and event video or waveform records can be kept where the ordered model supports them. Configuration and firmware update over the air. On site, run a power-on self-test, sync time on the link, and spot-check a sample. For metering or safety use, SimtoLink helps prepare a third-party metrology submission and supplies type-test documents.

Key hardware parameters

Ratings below are a typical peephole-module build, for selection and for a technical clause in a tender. For a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe version, ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents shipped with the unit govern.

Typical applications

Four ways this module is usually fitted, for design and for judging payback:

Home entry

A record of food-delivery and parcel visits, and video intercom when a child is home alone.

Built into a smart lock

A lock maker embeds the module as an ODM part, so the finished lock spends less time in certification.

Apartments and dormitories

Room status is managed from one place, and an unusual linger is pushed to the steward.

Older adults living alone

Family accounts can be authorized, and a one-press help call can be added.

Installation, grounding, and maintenance

  • Confirm supply range and polarity before the battery is connected. Measure bus voltage and breaker rating if the drawing is unclear.
  • Use shielded twisted pair for communications, ground the shield at one end, and keep it off long shared routes with high-power cables.
  • In the lab, finish a two-way read and write and a threshold trip against the platform before the module is fitted in a door.
  • An outdoor mount needs drainage and airflow. Recheck the seal. Lightning-earth resistance must meet the local code.
  • In service, spot-check a sample and archive logs every 12 months.

Ordering, documentation, and support

SimtoLink issues the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and example projects. Volume orders can include a sample review and an inspector at the plant. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents packed with the module.
