Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink 3D structured-light face module is for liveness and 1:N match under strong light, backlight, and makeup. A projected coded grating builds a depth map, which cuts photo, video, and mask attacks. Infrared fill light, RGB and IR sensors, and a light feature pipeline sit in one module for a turnstile, a kiosk, or a smart lock. On a weak network it can match an offline list with an edge box.
Integration has to settle tilt, recognition distance, interpupillary range, and reach for a child or a wheelchair user. SimtoLink advises on the cutout, cooling, and EMI shielding. Privacy mode, feature encryption, and log redaction can be written into the hardware specification for MLPS and personal-information protection.
Reliability and field fit
Salt-spray and vibration type tests that apply to this module cover electrical safety and EMC. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced ground and a zoned layout cut ground-loop and common-mode risk. Outdoor or coastal housings can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Bulk parameter import, threshold policy, and event video or waveform capture depend on the model. Configuration and firmware update over the air. Accept the unit on site with a power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a sample spot check. For metering or safety use, SimtoLink helps with a third-party metrology submission and supplies the type-test file.
Key hardware parameters
The table is a typical build of this face module, for a selection note or a tender clause. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe version is a separate quote; ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly. The nameplate and the papers in the carton govern.

Typical applications
Four passages this module usually serves, for solution design and for judging the return:
Campus and metro turnstiles
Peak flow, a mask policy, and a block-list link.
Office speed gates
Visitor booking, the destination floor on the lift, and attendance in one pass.
Smart locks and peepholes
Hands-free unlock when someone is carrying a large bag.
Clinical and care terminals
Identity check for a patient or an older resident, and authorization for a companion.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Check the DC 5~12V window and polarity before power-up. Measure bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter if the drawing is unclear.
- Use shielded twisted pair, ground the shield at one end, and keep the run off long bundles with high-power cable.
- In the lab, prove bidirectional read and write and a threshold trip against the host before the module is fitted on site.
- Outdoor heads need a drain path and ventilation. Recheck the seal. Lightning earth resistance has to meet the local code.
- On a lane that stays in service, take a sample spot check and archive logs every 6 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
A hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and an example project are available for this face module. Volume orders can include a sample review and inspection at the factory. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents packed with the module.
