Product overview
This UWB tag is field-sensing hardware. The numbers on the page are what a buyer, a tender clause, and a later spot check all use. A 24-bit Σ-Δ ADC carries measurement and the link, so the fix stays predictable across wide temperature, wide supply, and electrical noise. Terminals unplug. Critical chips carry a watchdog and a redundant check. Signed firmware can be verified and rolled back, which keeps a batch of tags and remote service practical.
Isolated RS485 and standard industrial connectors are fitted as standard, for a SCADA, energy, or IoT platform already running. SimtoLink supplies a southbound point table and northbound MQTT/HTTP push examples. Volume orders can add enclosure silk-screen, a set harness length, protocol mapping, and a calibration certificate.
Reliability on site
The CCC items that apply have been passed. Ports are protected against surge and reversed polarity. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout hold down ground-loop and common-mode risk. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters load in a batch. Thresholds, and event video or waveform capture, follow the model ordered. Configuration and firmware update over the air. Close the site check with a power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a sample reading. For metering or safety use, SimtoLink helps with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key specifications
Treat the table as a typical order of this tag, for selection and for a clause. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe build is in the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family are not identical. The nameplate and the papers in the box govern.

Typical applications
Four layouts that come up often, for the design and for a payback check:
Discrete manufacturing and assembly
Centimeter fixes at the station and at the rack, tied to MES and ANDON, so work in process can be traced and a bottleneck station can be seen.
Hospitals and care homes
Staff, patient wristbands, and mobile equipment stay on the map, for a geofence, a one-press call, and an asset count.
Warehouses and forklifts
Aisles, docks, and high racks stay located, which helps AGV and forklift collision avoidance and task dispatch, and cuts the chance of people and trucks crossing.
Buildings and visitors
Pair the UWB indoor positioning tag with anchors and a map engine for visitor tracks, meeting-room wayfinding, and a digital patrol.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Check supply range and polarity before the tag is powered. If the drawing is incomplete, measure bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
- Use shielded twisted pair, ground it at one end, and do not run it for a long distance beside high-power cable.
- Prove a two-way read and write and a threshold trip against the platform on the bench before the tag goes to the floor.
- An outdoor mount needs drainage and a path for air. Inspect the seal face on a schedule. Lightning-earth resistance must meet the local rule.
- In long service, take a sample reading and archive logs every 6 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
The hardware specification, an outline drawing, the wiring table, and a sample project are available from SimtoLink. A volume order can include a sample review and an inspector at the plant. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers packed with the tag.
