Product Overview and Engineering Role

The tag is for wide-area, low-duty-cycle presence and departure of assets. It is normally used with an outdoor gateway or a handheld, and it cuts power and wiring cost on a campus, in a port, or on an open yard.

The UHF/EPC fields and the read range in the table line up with the reader-side protocol. If the order code includes LoRaWAN backhaul, the dual-mode logic in the Hardware Specification decides.

Reliability and Site Conditions

IP67 and a cable tie fit pipework, railings, and returnable containers. A single-use lithium-thionyl chloride cell means fewer service visits, and the cell still has to be recycled under the environmental rule.

At short range, watch multi-tag collisions and the Q setting. Before go-live, test a dense stack and a tag sitting next to metal.

Key Hardware Parameters

The table is the usual build, for selection and for a bid’s technical schedule. A custom band, package, or volume UID comes from the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ. The nameplate and the papers in the carton decide.

Typical Deployments

Four placements come up when the scheme is drawn and the payback is estimated:

Ports and yards

A coarse presence check of containers and large pipe fittings.

Forestry and farm supplies

A cable tie on pipe and machine parts, with a long outdoor life.

Farm machinery and rented equipment

A departure alarm and a geofence rule.

Municipal plant

Marks on railings and manhole-cover fittings, checked on a patrol.

Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance

  • Pick a cable tie for UV and pull-out force, and turn the cut end inward so it does not cut anyone.
  • Match reader-antenna polarization to the tag, and re-measure read range next to metal.
  • After a batch write, keep a UID cross-reference. Rewrite or scrap a tag that fails, on its own.
  • Warn from the platform before the cell is spent, then replace and recycle it under the procedure.
  • On a dual-mode order code, watch the duty-cycle limit when both radios run at once.

Ordering, Documentation, and Support

A hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and sample projects come with the inquiry. Volume orders can include a sample review and inspection at the plant. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers in the carton.
