Product Overview and Engineering Role

The SimtoLink GPS logistics tracking tag is for line-haul, high-value cargo, and rented equipment. Outdoors it fixes by satellite. In a warehouse or on a dock, a short-range link such as Bluetooth can close the handover. Temperature and humidity fields are there as evidence of the trip.

Cellular or NB-IoT backhaul, the report interval, and the geofence follow the order code and the Hardware Specification. SimtoLink can supply a template for a TMS or a customs-supervision platform.

Reliability and Site Conditions

The wide temperature range and vibration rating suit a strap-down on a trailer or a pallet. A metal body can block both GNSS and the radio, so prove the mounting spot on a loaded vehicle.

SimtoLink recommends a low-battery alarm and a tamper alarm, and a log of SIM or eSIM life and the tariff plan.

Key Hardware Parameters

The table is the typical configuration of this tag, for selection and for bid clauses. A custom band, package, or batch UID is available from SimtoLink with the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the documents shipped with the tag govern.

Typical Deployments

Four layouts that come up when you size a tracking tag and look at payback:

Reefer trucks

Track and the temperature and humidity curve are kept as evidence.

Cross-border containers

Geofence enter and exit, plus a policy for an abnormal open.

Two-wheeler rental

Cell-tower assist when the canyon blocks GPS.

Dock handover

A Bluetooth handshake on the dock moves responsibility.

Installation, Grounding, and Maintenance

  • Point the GNSS antenna up, away from metal shields and heat. In a trailer, prefer a window or an external antenna, by model.
  • After a rivet or a strap, pull-test the tag so vibration does not throw it off.
  • Set the report rate to the local rules, so it does not interfere with driving or create a privacy problem.
  • Recheck SIM expiry, the data cap, and roaming three months ahead.
  • Wipe data on a retired tag, and recycle the battery to the rules.

Ordering, Documentation, and Support

SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project for this tag. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the unit.
