Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink voiceprint access-control edge terminal enrolls a voiceprint, checks a spoken liveness passphrase, and runs 1:N matching on the edge. It is for a quick pass when hands are full, a mask is on, or a fingerprint will not read. It can link to a Wiegand/RS485 access controller, turnstile IO, and a building intercom. A directional microphone, echo cancellation, and far-field noise suppression sit in the terminal. Templates are stored encrypted, with an offline list and upload after a network drop, so audio does not have to go to the center.
State the pickup distance, the concurrent channel count, and the defense against a recorded-voice attack in the hardware specification, and finish a joint-debug script for fire-alarm forced release and anti-passback. For a noisy shop or an outdoor gate, SimtoLink can supply a windscreen and a mounting-angle guide.
Reliability and field fit
The salt-spray and vibration type tests that apply have been passed. Ports are protected against surge and reversed polarity. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout cut ground-loop and common-mode risk. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters load in a batch. Thresholds, and event video or waveform records, follow the model ordered. Configuration and firmware update over the air. Close acceptance with a power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a sample reading. For metering or safety use, SimtoLink helps with a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key hardware parameters
The table is a typical build of this terminal, for selection and for a tender clause. For a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe version, ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly. The nameplate and the papers shipped with the terminal govern.

Typical applications
Four common deployments, for solution design and for judging return on investment:
Cleanrooms and laboratories
A spoken passphrase, no contact, so gloves stay on.
Loading docks and forklift lanes
The gate opens while both hands are busy, so the stop is shorter.
Government and archive counters
Staff authorization and a separate visitor path, with an audit log.
Care homes and accessible routes
Voice-assisted door opening, with a spare interface for a fall alarm.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Before the terminal is powered, confirm the supply range and polarity. If the drawing is thin, measure bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
- Run communications as shielded twisted pair, grounded at one end, and keep it out of a long shared route with high-power cable.
- On the bench, finish a two-way read and write and a threshold trip against the platform before the terminal is mounted at the door.
- An outdoor mount needs a path for water to leave and air to move. Recheck the seal face. Lightning-earth resistance has to meet the local rule.
- In long service, sample a reading and archive logs every 24 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
Ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification, an outline drawing, the wiring table, and a sample project. A volume order can include a sample review and an inspector at the plant. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers packed with the terminal.
