Overview
The international REST API is how a cross-border IoT business talks to connectivity without a separate interface per country. It includes a unified API gateway, standard contracts in OpenAPI and Swagger, SDKs in several languages (SDK), and webhook subscriptions. SimtoLink International IoT Cloud Platform (ICMP) provides that API end to end, across 200+ countries and regions, for 500+ enterprise customers and more than 10 million connected devices.
REST through one gateway
A standard REST API covers SIM management, usage queries, and activation or suspension. The gateway is where access, authentication, rate limits, and monitoring sit.
What an integration has to provide
The API has to be one interface across regions and operators, ready for a fast integration and further development, aligned with GDPR and data localization, and protected by availability and rate limits. ICMP provides one global API endpoint, OpenAPI docs, an SDK, webhooks, a sandbox, and API monitoring, and the same surface can grow with the business.
How calls are admitted
The API layer is a microservices architecture, with an SLA of 99.9% and technical support 7×24. TLS protects calls. OAuth 2.0 or an API key, together with RBAC, decides what a client may invoke, and the audit trail records the call.
- One REST API, instead of a different interface for each operator and region
- OpenAPI and Swagger docs that a team can integrate against and generate code from
- SDKs in several languages, and webhook subscriptions, so the build is shorter
- A customer-success manager for the integration and for what breaks after it ships
Systems that call the API
From sandbox to production
A sensible order is requirements review → solution design → sandbox checks → production cutover → ongoing tuning. SimtoLink provides the OpenAPI docs, the SDK, a sandbox, integration help, and training. Contact SimtoLink to map the API to the systems that will call it.
