Connected lockers, compartment control, remote unlock, and item traceability for easier home and office storage
Built on IoT and a cloud platform, the solution gives locker makers connectivity, compartment control, remote unlock, deposit and pickup records, and item labels. An app, a QR code, or a passcode opens the door, so cabinets are easier to run and easier to use, at home, in an office, a gym, a changing room, a hotel, or a school.
As shoppers trade up and want more from a limited space, lockers have moved from a mechanical key to a connected cabinet. The solution covers unlock rights, compartments, item traceability, and maintenance. Unlock options include the app, a QR code, a temporary passcode, access shared with family or friends, and an automatic lock when the booking ends. Each compartment can be controlled on its own, occupancy stays in sync, and a full cabinet is flagged. Items have a deposit record, a label, an expiry reminder, and a process for overdue items. Operations cover online status, fault alarms, and remote firmware updates. Connectivity is 4G, NB-IoT, or Wi-Fi. On a weak link the door can still open offline, and the record uploads later.
Home and apartment: Entryway cabinets, shoe cabinets, and wardrobes are best on Wi-Fi and tied to the smart-home platform. Temporary access for family or friends, and a compartment for holding parcels, are included. Plan for battery life or a mains supply.
Office and gym: Staff lockers and changing-room lockers can use one card or one face for several compartments, and reclaim a locker when someone leaves the company. A gym can bind a wristband to a compartment number, so keys are not lost. 4G or NB-IoT fits sites with no Wi-Fi.
Hotel and school: Hotel luggage storage can open by QR code and clear itself at checkout. Dormitory lockers should connect to student records and access control, including centralized management over the winter and summer breaks.
Unlock commands are encrypted in transit so they cannot be replayed. Each device can have its own key, and keys can rotate. Identity and permissions connect to the cabinet, and unlock logs can be traced and audited. Because personal belongings are stored, the Personal Information Protection Law applies and user data is stored de-identified. A link to property management or access control should keep the interface secure and the permissions separate.
Intelligent operations from unlock through to maintenance
Open by app, QR code, or passcode. Temporary access, sharing with family or friends, and an automatic lock at the end of the booking are included, plus offline unlock and a later upload.
Deposit records, item labels, expiry reminders, and overdue handling, searchable by compartment, user, or time.
Each compartment is controlled on its own. Occupancy stays in sync, a full cabinet is flagged, and an empty compartment can be suggested, so utilization rises.
Online status, fault alarms, remote updates, and battery level, so maintenance costs less.
