What the Beacon Is For

The SimtoLink Bluetooth AoA asset beacon works with an AoA gateway that carries an antenna array. CTE direction finding gives meter to sub-meter positioning for indoor assets, tools, and personnel-badge tracks.

SimtoLink can advise on mount height, array heading, and how several gateways are fused. EPC and advertising-payload fields follow the Hardware Specification and the platform SDK.

Reliability on Site

Multipath and a blocked line of sight stretch the angle error, so gateway positions and a metal-blockage review belong in the CAD stage.

Temperature and humidity sensing is only an extra condition check. After go-live, run a grid range test and a stationary-drift count before the alarm thresholds are locked in.

Key Hardware Parameters

The table is the typical build, for selection and for a bid clause. For a custom band, a custom package, or UIDs in bulk, ask SimtoLink for the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly. The nameplate and the papers in the box govern.

Typical Use Cases

Four typical placements, for the scheme and for a payback check:

Hospitals and laboratories

Tracks of high-value equipment and sample carts, so less time is spent searching.

Discrete manufacturing

Locating work in process and the tooling that rides with an AGV.

Smart buildings

Meeting-room assets and cleaning-cart dispatch.

Retail back of house

Area-level locating of pick carts and roll cages.

Install and Keep the Fix

  • Keep beacon and gateway antenna polarization the same. Metal stuck on the side can drop the CTE.
  • Set gateway height and tilt from the maker's guide, and write down the MAC and the physical coordinates.
  • On several floors, check channels and the roaming policy so co-channel interference does not build up.
  • Battery order codes need a replacement-cycle log. Passive and collector types follow the specification.
  • Back up the map and the anchor parameters before a positioning-engine upgrade.

Ordering, Documentation, and Support

SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the beacon.
