Electrode and how it is specified
The SimtoLink ORP redox electrode sits on process-sensing networks where a millivolt reading has to stay comparable from bid through a later spot check. Measurement and the link share a dual-core lockstep MCU, so the value holds under wide temperature, wide supply voltage, and electrical noise. Terminals unplug, key devices have a watchdog and redundant checks, and firmware is signed with rollback, which is how a batch of electrodes stays serviceable from the yard.
The default port is a fiber SFP on a standard industrial connector, ready for an existing SCADA, energy, or IoT platform. Southbound point-list templates and northbound MQTT/HTTP examples come with the unit so commissioning is shorter. Volume jobs can add housing marks, a set harness length, a protocol map, and a calibration certificate.
Salt, vibration, and the cabinet
Electrical safety and EMC rest on the relevant salt-spray and vibration type tests. Ports carry surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout limit ground loops and common-mode noise. Outdoor and coastal orders can take a higher ingress rating and an anti-corrosion coating.
Settings import in a batch. Threshold rules, and event video or waveform capture, depend on the model. Configuration and firmware both move by OTA. SimtoLink closes a site in three checks: power-on self-test, time sync, and a sampling spot check. Metering and safety uses can include a third-party metrology submission and the type-test file.
Key specifications
The table is a typical build of this electrode, for selection and for a tender schedule. A wider range, a redundant supply, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant is a separate request. Ask SimtoLink for the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ in small ways; the nameplate and the papers with the goods decide.

Where the electrode is used
Four process layouts, for the scheme and for a payback note:
Disinfection breakpoint
ORP on advanced wastewater treatment and reclaimed-water disinfection, so operators can see whether chlorine or ozone has reached the oxidation breakpoint before odor shows up.
Pools and spas
Run it with residual chlorine and pH to catch cyanuric-acid interference and a weak redox condition, and keep the public-health numbers in range.
Plating and hydrometallurgy
Watch the oxidation state of leach liquor and electrolyte so an unexpected reduction, or too much oxidation, does not spoil the plate or the current efficiency.
Irrigation and nutrient solution
Put the ORP redox electrode on soilless culture and recirculating aquaculture to read the root zone and how far nitrification has gone in the biofilter.
Fitting, earthing, and the service round
- Confirm loop supply range and polarity before the electrode is powered. Measure bus voltage and breaker capacity with a meter when the drawing is unclear.
- Carry the signal on shielded twisted pair, ground the shield at one end, and keep it out of long bundles with high-power cables.
- In the lab, finish bidirectional read and write and a threshold trip against the platform, then take the electrode to site.
- Outside, sort drainage and breathing first. Check seal faces on a round, and keep lightning-earth resistance inside the local rule.
- Once it is running, take a sampling spot check and archive the logs every 24 months.
How to order
SimtoLink ships a hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project. Volume orders can include a sample review and inspection at the factory. Warranty and calibration are set by the contract and the documents in the crate.
