Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink submersible hydrostatic level sensor is process-sensing hardware for an IoT point. Ratings on this page support a selection, a tender clause, and a later spot check. Measurement and the uplink run on an industrial-grade MEMS architecture, so the reading stays predictable across wide temperature, wide pressure, and electromagnetic interference. Terminals pull out, critical chips carry a watchdog and a redundant check, and the firmware that matters is signed and can roll back, which is what a volume shipment and later remote service need.
This model leaves the factory with a USB-C debug port and a standard industrial connector, ready for an existing SCADA, energy-management, or IoT platform. Southbound point-list templates and northbound MQTT and HTTP push examples shorten the joint debug. Volume orders can add enclosure silkscreen, a set harness length, protocol mapping, and a calibration certificate.
Reliability and field fit
IEC 61000-4 Level 4 items that apply to this probe cover electrical safety and EMC. Ports are protected against surge and reversed polarity. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout cut ground-loop and common-mode risk. Outdoor or coastal sites can take a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.
Parameters can be imported in bulk, thresholds can be set, and models that include it can store event video or a waveform. Configuration and firmware go out over the air. Acceptance on site is a power-on self-test, time sync on the link, and a sample spot check. For metering or safety use, SimtoLink helps with a third-party metrology-institute submission and supplies the type-test file.
Key hardware parameters
The table is a typical build of this level probe, for selection and for a technical clause in a tender. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe version is quoted separately; ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly. The nameplate and the papers shipped with the probe govern.

Typical applications
Four wet sites this probe is usually dropped into, for solution design and for judging the return:
Deep wells and groundwater
Static level in an observation well, a geothermal well, or a source well, with a telemetry terminal and lightning protection, for water-resource management and over-abstraction warning.
Sumps and pump stations
Submerged in a wastewater-plant inlet well or a storm pump station. The vented cable stands long immersion, and the level interlocks pump start and stop.
Sponge-city storage
Level downstream of a detention tank, a sunken green, or permeable paving shows how much water was held, and feeds the empty-down plan.
Port and dock tide
The submersible hydrostatic level sensor is a tide reference and a mooring-safety aid, with the reading on the port dispatch or disaster-warning platform.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Confirm supply range and polarity before this probe is powered. If the cabinet drawing is unclear, measure bus voltage and breaker rating with a multimeter.
- Use shielded twisted pair for the level signal, ground the shield at one end, and keep it off a long bundle with high-power cable.
- Prove bidirectional read and write, and a threshold trip, against the platform in the lab before the sensor goes into the well or tank.
- An outdoor head needs a drain path and ventilation. Recheck the seal face on rounds. Lightning-protection earth resistance has to meet the local code.
- On a probe that stays submerged, take a sample spot check and archive the logs every 6 months.
Ordering, documentation, and support
SimtoLink can issue the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and an example project for this level sensor. Volume orders can include a sample review and inspection at the factory. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers packed with the probe.
