Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink wide-temperature DIN-rail gateway is built for outdoor cabinets, wind-farm pad-mount transformers, and sites in cold regions. The operating range covers hard cold and full sun. It combines several Ethernet ports, an SFP, and LoRa/4G, runs IEC104/DNP3, and supports VPN/IPSec.
SimtoLink can advise on DIN-rail torque, condensation, and heater selection, and can supply a redundant-power wiring diagram. Volume projects can set the coating, terminal direction, and antenna exit, which shortens delivery of a complete outdoor cabinet.
Reliability and site fit
CE/FCC test items are covered. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced grounding and a partitioned layout lower ground-loop and common-mode risk. Outdoor and coastal orders can step up to a higher ingress rating and an anti-corrosion coat.
Software imports parameters in batches, applies threshold policies, and, on models that include it, records events or waveforms. Configuration and firmware update over OTA. On site, SimtoLink suggests a power-on self-test, a communications time sync, and a sample check. Metering or safety-related use can add help with a third-party metrology submission and type-test papers.
Key hardware parameters
The table is this gateway’s typical hardware, for selection and for tender clauses. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof build is quoted apart. Ask SimtoLink for the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Sister order codes can differ. The nameplate and the documents shipped with the gateway govern.

Typical applications
How this gateway is usually installed, when you are choosing a scheme and checking the interface:
Wind and renewable plants
DIN-rail mounting inside the pad-mount transformer and the ring-main unit, collecting protection, measurement, and environmental readings, with cellular backhaul to the control center.
Roads and tunnel plant
Wide-temperature service in cabinets at the tunnel mouth and on the gantry, gathering lighting, fans, and variable-message sign controllers.
Cold-region oil, gas, and water
Wellsite RTUs, valve rooms, and booster stations stay on remote control in the cold, with a dual supply and a lightning-protection ground kit.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Confirm supply range and polarity before power-on. If you are unsure of the feed, measure bus voltage and breaker rating.
- Use shielded twisted pair, grounded at one end, and do not run it in a long bundle with high-power cable.
- For the first connection, prove bidirectional read and write and a threshold trigger with the platform in the lab, then move to site.
- Outdoors, sort drainage and ventilation first, inspect seals on a schedule, and keep lightning-protection earth resistance inside the local rule.
- While the gateway stays in service, sample it and archive logs once every 24 months.
Ordering, documents, and support
The hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project are available from SimtoLink. A volume order can include sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration are set in the contract and in the documents that travel with the gateway.
