Product overview and engineering role

This terminal draws a local 3D picture of equipment topology in equipment rooms, on production lines, and across a campus. WebGL and similar lightweight methods load BIM and glTF assets, then overlay live points, alarms, and low-bitrate video so the central room carries less GPU work and less dedicated video-wall bandwidth.

Dual displays and touch are optional. Industrial cooling and a wide temperature range support long run times. SimtoLink can supply binding rules, theme skins, and a failover display mode so the screen stays on the same source data as SCADA, an energy system, or an IoT platform.

Reliability and site fit

The unit has passed the relevant CE and FCC tests. Ports include surge and reverse-polarity protection. Reinforced grounding and a zoned layout cut ground-loop and common-mode noise. Outdoor and coastal sites can specify a higher ingress rating and a corrosion-resistant coating.

Scene themes, point binding, and the failover display can be set in software, and the browser shell plus local services can be updated over the air. On site, run a power-on self-test, calibrate against the video wall or touch panel, and accept the unit against the platform point list. High-security projects can add penetration-test support and type-test documents.

Key hardware parameters

Figures below are the typical build, for selection notes and bid clauses. A wider span, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe variant is available on request with the hardware specification and the installation guide. Order codes in this family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the papers shipped with the unit govern.

Parameter Specification Notes
Rendering engine WebGL / lightweight 3D BIM, glTF, and similar assets
Graphics Integrated GPU, or an optional low-power discrete GPU Depends on dual display and frame rate
Video overlay Low-bitrate H.264/H.265 streams Shown on the same screen as the twin
Refresh latency <100 ms Typical for bound points
Data binding OPC UA / MQTT / REST Same source as SCADA
Storage 512 GB SSD Asset and theme cache
Communications Gigabit Ethernet + WiFi 6 Cellular optional
Security TEE optional Signed firmware
Power <45 W Depends on GPU and dual-display build
Operating temperature -10~50 ℃ Air-cooled or fanless

Typical applications

Four patterns that show up when a scheme is costed and a payback case is written:

Data centers and low-voltage rooms

Cabinet temperature, humidity, and power circuits take color in the 3D scene, so a duty round can be read from one screen.

Discrete manufacturing lines

Station takt, AGVs, and key machine status stay in sync on the twin, giving the shift lead one view to direct from.

Campus operations centers

Pipe networks, energy use, and security alarms sit in the model. Touch drill-down and emergency-plan drills are supported.

Integrated energy and microgrids

PV, storage, and charging topology plus live power flow are drawn for dispatch and for visitor tours.

Installation, grounding, and maintenance

  • Before power-up, confirm the supply range and polarity. Check bus voltage and breaker rating with a meter when the circuit is unfamiliar.
  • Use shielded twisted pair for communications, ground the shield at one end, and do not run it bundled with high-power cables over a long distance.
  • For first commissioning, prove two-way reads and writes and threshold triggers against the platform in the lab, then move the terminal to site.
  • Outdoor mounts need drainage and ventilation first. Inspect sealing faces on a schedule, and keep lightning-protection earth resistance within local rules.
  • In continuous service, sample-check the unit and archive logs every 24 months.

Ordering, documentation, and support

SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project. Volume orders can include a sample review and a factory inspection. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers shipped with the unit.
