What the splitter does

The SimtoLink PoE PD splitter takes power off the Ethernet link and splits it into several DC rails. Cameras, access points, and edge gateways then get local regulation and isolation, and the site needs fewer AC adapters and fewer trailing cords. OVP/OCP/OTP together suit an outdoor cabinet or a weak-current riser.

The nameplate and the Hardware Specification govern the figures. SimtoLink can supply a power-budget sheet matched to the PSE class, a wiring diagram, and a temperature-rise summary. Volume orders can add wire-sequence labels and a mounting bracket.

How it behaves on the cable

Electrical-safety and EMC tests follow industry practice. The ports are built for surge and common-mode stress, and the body can sit on a DIN rail or a panel.

Work the far-end voltage from PSE power and cable loss so a long run does not sag into undervoltage. Outdoors, keep moisture out and the earth solid. Before it goes live, finish the power handshake, a full-load temperature rise, and an insulation spot check.

Key specifications

The table is a typical build of this splitter, for selection and for a tender clause. A wider range, a redundant supply, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant is a separate request. Ask SimtoLink for the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly; the nameplate and the papers shipped with the module govern.

Where the splitter sits

Four layouts, for the scheme and for a payback note:

Security and machine vision

A regulated rail, split off the PoE feed, for dome cameras, bullet cameras, and fill lights, so the pole carries less cable.

The far end of wireless coverage

Access points and bridges take PoE in the weak-current room and share it locally, so fewer AC outlets are required.

Access control and intercom

The door station, the reader, and the lock board share one PoE link, so a fault is quicker to place.

Outdoor cabinets

Pair it with surge suppression and a redundant switchover module so a thunderstorm season stays online.

Cable, earth, and the reset

  • Confirm the PSE type and the power class. Cable gauge and length have to cover voltage drop and temperature rise.
  • Bond PE to the chassis, and fit a waterproof boot on outdoor terminals.
  • Do not load a split output past its rated power. Balance the rails so the temperature rise stays even.
  • After a protection trip, find the short or the overload before you reset. Tighten terminals and look for corrosion on a round.
  • If the switch provides a redundant link, keep STP and the power path on the same story.

Documents with the order

SimtoLink includes a hardware specification, dimension drawings, a wiring table, and a sample project. Volume orders can add a sample review and an inspection at the factory. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the papers in the box.
