Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink wide-input DC-DC isolated module sits on the DC bus of an industrial control cabinet, an outdoor cabinet, or an IoT endpoint. Isolated conversion, plus reverse-polarity and overcurrent protection, holds a regulated output for several loads while the input swings. Terminals can be serviced, and the package is compact enough to share a cabinet with a PLC, an RTU, a switch, or a sensor front end.
The nameplate and the Hardware Specification govern the figures. SimtoLink can supply a wiring diagram, a derating curve, an EMI test summary, and a note on certification options. Volume orders can split order codes by lead length and output-voltage step.
Reliability and site fit
Electrical-safety and EMC test items follow common industry practice. The input side is reinforced for surge and reverse polarity. The power stage is laid out for both heat and common-mode suppression.
Size the power margin for load steps and ripple, and keep the airflow and the copper temperature rise in bounds. Outdoor or salt-spray sites can use a potted or three-proof coated build. Before you put the module into service, SimtoLink recommends checking the input range, full-load temperature rise, and a sample insulation test.
Key hardware parameters
Figures below are the typical configuration, for selection and for a tender clause. A wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant is a separate order. Ask SimtoLink for the Hardware Specification and the Installation and Commissioning Guide. Order codes in the family can differ slightly. The nameplate and the papers in the box prevail.

Typical applications
Four places this module is usually fitted, when you are judging the scheme and the return:
Control-cabinet auxiliary supply
Several DC rails for the PLC, the I/O, and the isolators, which cuts ground-loop and common-mode risk.
Communications and RTU buses
A regulated branch off a 24/48V DC bus for a wireless module or a serial server.
Vehicle and battery-powered gear
Rides through a wide battery swing and gives edge compute or an acquisition unit a regulated intermediate rail.
Hold-up with a backup source
Paired with a UPS lithium module or a supercapacitor buffer, so critical loads stay up longer after the mains drop.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Before power-on, check the input rating, polarity, and breaker size, and work out continuous current from the derating curve.
- Bond PE to system ground. Keep input and output wiring in separate zones, away from drives and relay arcing.
- Pick load-cable cross-section and voltage drop from continuous current and ambient temperature.
- On a DIN rail, leave airflow above and below. Check terminal temperature rise and ripple on a routine walk-down.
- If common-mode noise shows up, recheck single-end grounding and how the shield is landed.
Ordering, documents, and support
SimtoLink supplies the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and an example project. Volume orders can add sample review and inspection at the factory. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents shipped with the module.
