Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink stainless steel outdoor weatherproof enclosure is for long outdoor exposure. The shell and lock keep out rain, dust, and corrosion, and the box holds an optical modem, a switch, a power supply, and a small edge gateway. Typical sites are pole stations, a campus perimeter, and a new-energy plant.
The shell is 304 stainless steel, which stands up to the atmosphere and to weak acid or alkali. Outdoors, the lasting work is still cleaning fasteners and seals on a schedule. The salt-spray rating in the table is there to match a coast or a site next to a pickling shop. If you need 316L, double-wall insulation, or a thicker plate, confirm the hardware specification with SimtoLink when you order.
Reliability and field fit
Condensation from the day-night swing collects inside the cavity. A breather valve, desiccant, or a slight positive pressure can deal with it.
The lock and the hinge set how often the box is opened and how well it stays shut. SimtoLink recommends checking fasteners and seal elasticity every six months.
Key hardware parameters
Ratings in the table are a typical build of this enclosure, for a selection note or a clause in a tender. If you need a wider range, redundant power, or an intrinsically safe explosion-proof variant, ask SimtoLink for the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes in the family can differ in small ways; the nameplate and the papers in the carton govern.

Typical applications
Four places this enclosure usually goes, for solution design and for judging the return:
PV and storage plants
Inverter communications, meter collection, and environmental sensors sit next to the equipment they serve.
Pole sites and checkpoints
A camera, the fill-light supply, and a switch share one rainproof box.
Outdoor water monitoring
A river or pump-station RTU shares the box with a solar charge controller.
Ports and coastal campuses
A 316L build, plus the lock and seal materials, cuts how often the coast has to be visited.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Level the pad and give it a drain slope. The base should not sit in standing water.
- Point cable glands down, or add a side drip loop, so water cannot siphon in.
- Keep lightning earth and equipment earth on separate buses, so a ground-potential rise does not come back into the gear.
- If a heater or fan is fitted, set the thermostat for the lowest ambient the site will see.
- Passivate or polish a scratch promptly, so a chloride atmosphere does not start crevice corrosion.
Ordering, documentation, and support
SimtoLink can issue the hardware specification, outline drawings, a wiring table, and an example project for this enclosure. Volume orders may include a sample review and inspection on the factory floor. Warranty and calibration follow the contract and the documents packed with the box.
