Product overview and engineering role
The SimtoLink UPS backup lithium battery module holds up edge gateways, communications gear, and critical controllers for a short DC ride-through, so the output stays up through a mains dip or a source changeover. Isolated dual outputs and reverse-polarity protection sit on a cabinet bus, a solar auxiliary source, or a wide-range DC-DC stage.
Ratings follow the nameplate and the hardware specification. SimtoLink can supply charge and discharge curves, a cycle-life note, and a BMS protocol summary where the order code includes them. Volume orders can set the capacity step and the terminal direction.
Reliability and field fit
Electrical safety and EMC tests follow common industry practice. The lithium side uses over-charge, over-discharge, and temperature protection as stated in the specification.
Size the usable capacity from backup time and load power, and watch temperature rise and airflow. Before the module goes into service, capture the changeover waveform, the hold-up time, and an insulation sample. Dispose of spent batteries under the local rule.
Key hardware parameters
Use this table when you shortlist a module or paste a line into a tender. A wider range, a redundant supply, or an intrinsically safe build is quoted from the hardware specification and the installation and commissioning guide. Order codes inside the family are not identical. What is printed on the nameplate, and what is packed with the module, is what you install.

Typical applications
Four deployments that show up often, for solution design and for judging return on investment:
Edge rooms and aggregation nodes
During a mains flicker, keep switches and routers up long enough to flush logs and shut down cleanly.
Traffic and checkpoint gear
Hold a signal controller or a capture unit for seconds to minutes so a short outage does not drop the record.
Industrial safety chain
Paired with a redundant changeover module, the PLC and safety relays stay powered through the switch transient.
PV and storage auxiliary supply
Smooth the output when a PV or MPPT bus moves, and give the communications board a buffer.
Installation, grounding, and maintenance
- Wire to the marked polarity. Do not reverse the leads. Before the first power-up, measure open-circuit voltage and sample the internal resistance.
- Leave an air path, and do not mount the module against a power resistor or a drive.
- Check charge voltage, float current, and the temperature-probe reading on a schedule.
- When cycle life is reached, or a swelling alarm appears, replace the module to the rule and record the serial number.
- For long storage offline, keep the state of charge and the temperature the specification calls for.
Ordering, documentation, and support
The hardware specification, outline drawing, wiring table, and a sample project are available from SimtoLink. A volume order can include a sample review and a factory inspector. Warranty and calibration are the ones written in the contract and in the papers that ship with the module.
